Is anyone else really looking forward to this game? It seems to be going back to the roots of the Sonic Adventure series, which I think is a good thing.

If you take a look at recently updated http://sonic.sega.jp/sonic/ you will find that it gives quite a lot away about the characters (take a look at the returning characters, I'm sure you can guess who they are from the shadows) and plot of the story, even if you don't understand a word of Japanese. However, thanks to Wikipedia, everything has been translated, so you might wanna check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_%282006_game%29 :D

Also, here is the latest trailer for the game: http://xboxmovies.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/3575/Sonic-The-Hedgehog-Trailer/ (Xbox 360 vers.)

I'm really looking forward to this game. But I have a feeling that it will dissapoint.

Sega said they were going back to the roots of the franchise, but they included Shadow the Hedgehog, futuristic cities, guns and vehicles etc.

I would much have preferred Sonic on his own in lush fantasy style worlds like Sonic 1 and 2.

Still got my eye on it though and the the box art looks cool :tmb:

I'm getting it for the PS3. Since the PS3 has been delayed until march they may have more time to perfect the PS3 version even more. This is the only PS3 launch title I intend on getting.

Looks like they are remaking the classic Dreamcast level!Oh wow! I loved these games on the Dreamcast (R.I.P :(), and that level blew me away when I first played it! Wonder if it's the whole of Emerald Coast or just that particular part?

Edit: Nevermind, looks like the whole level is there from the screenshots! :jmp:

I'm immediadly beginning to have concerns! DAMN YOU SEGA!!!Meh, I couldn't care less about any of that, the gameplay movies so far have made up for anything else. I see this as a step in the right direction for the series, after the cheap sellout games that were Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog.

This game is really starting to remind me of Sonic Adventure 1, with all the adventure feilds and such. :D Wonder if there will be...*gulp*...Chao gardens? :yik:

Aw, who am I kidding? I spend hours and hours raising them in Sonic Adventure 2! :jmp:

Havng excellent gameplay is the most important yes, but the story also is...

Take a look at Sonic 3D. Terrible game but the story is even worse. Thus making it less enjoyable.

I want to run around lovely isometric environments as Sonic but I don't wanna worry about saving some dumb birds.

It's (almost) the same deal with Sonic 06. I wouldn't mind beating up mystical monsters as Shadow but I wouldn't want to be doing it for Rouge. That's Knuckles' job! :p

No the gameplay is worse. Controls were VERY awkward. It was hard to get sonic to go where you wanted him to. In classic sonics I've never cared for story. In fact for most of the games I didn't even know what the stories were. In sonic mega collection plus over ten years later I finally found out what the stories were in all the games by reading the stories in the instruction book. Sonic heroes stories for the four scenarios were easy to follow due to the movies in the game. I think the stories were pretty cool but I didn't care for the cheesy lines and the overall kiddyness of the speech. It just makes me think "Seriously shut up sonic". I know its a "kids" game but I just hate the way it went overboard with the kidyness. I hope this sonic game isn't as kiddy with the speech.
