Since TR8 will only be in next-gen, it won't be on PSP, right? Correct me if Im wrong..

I don't know - it would figure that way.

If it is only next gen, then I doubt it'd be on PSP. However, if it's not just next gen, then possibly.

I think it will appear in some form. Why start the story and not finish it for the PSP fans. Why let them down aswell. Depends on their milking strategy.

I guess... But I aslo doubt..

I guess you could have asked that same question about Legend before it came out: Will TR7 come out on GBA? It's the least powerful console on the market against "Next-Gen" consoles (and I'm using the term "Next-gen" for PS2/Xbox/GC) but it still got a version, so they probably will make a version of TR8 for PSP (and PS2 for that matter as they have similar graphics) and GBA and NDS and GC and Xbox and PC and Xbox 360 and Mobile phones and PS3 and Microwaves and fridges...

I hope that it won't be with Next gen :)

If it's for PSP then it would be for PS2 also.. and I'm pretty sure TR8 will be next gen only.

Couldn't that be the same for PS2 fans though?

They've started a story with legend, so to me, it makes sense to conclude it on the same platform...

Nobody knows what platforms TR8 will be released on. Personally I'd just like to see PC, PS3 and X360 versions. Most people will have at least one of those consoles, and doing more will be a waste of time and resources. The quality of the game can only decrease with the number of versions developed.

I'd like to add to any list that someone should make sure that the good old Mac doesn't get forgotten. The Mac is, if I am not mistaken, the only platform that all Tomb Raider games except Legend were on.

I just don't see the logic in releasing a cliffhanger game to attract new fans, only to turn around and release the sequel (or the other half) on entirely different formats. Why go out of your way to increase the fanbase, only to abandon them with the next installment. A backlash and angry fans is all that will result, and the money will be spent elsewhere. Unless you're just in it for whatever cash you can swipe of them:whi:

I can't understand why some people don't want the game to be released on a certain console. I mean it: what do you care? Buy the version you want! The more versions, the more people will be able to buy and like the game.

Agreed, but some people consider that the quality of the product decreases and some other think that the time taken to release the game is bigger with each new version...

i have a psp and trl really stinks on it,i never buy tomb raider game on psp,its not optimised for it. Sorry for judging but only the tomb trails were fast not the ACTUAL LEVELS. Kasinstan was sooo slow it was almost unplayable on psp. seriuously no point!

its only fun when its fast:)

I think that they should release it on psp. I think that appart from the crap controls it was amazing. plus. PSP is next-gen for handhelds. Doesn't anyone know that! Same for nintendo ds!

That's precisely what is currently getting on my nerves with the GTA games. Years of PS2 loyalty is being repayed by bringing new games to PSP months before they reach PS2.

Well, if the obviously optimised the game enough so it's frame rate is stable on PSP, it wouldn't be so slow. The frame rate was dreadful at times on the PSP version (whether this was due to Buzz Monkey not doing enough or it was indeed the best they could do or Eidos forced them to leave it as it was or whatnot) so an obvious optimised stable and good frame rate and the PSP versions would be much better.

Also. I can only play on psp cos' i have an eye problem where i get dry eyes and it realy hurts. The psp screen is just the right size to play for any amount of time. on ps2 i can only play 15mins and have to have a hour brake!

More versions = less time to develop each version = worse game.

Then I hope they only it release for PS3. Not PSP, DS, Wii, XBxox 360 or PC. Just PS3.

One version = more time = better game.

Yes.

However, if you - like Eidos - want to have a blockbuster, you have to find a compromise between having the best game possible and having a large audience. That's why I suggested 3 versions for the 3 major gaming consoles by the time TR8's released. With less versions you exclude a whole lot of gamers whereas with more you get a few gamers more for the price of a great loss in development time.

count wii out. the graphics won't be the same with other consoles. although I really like it's controller
