I've just ripped the whole Tomb Raider Soundtrack of the Saturn version (same music as on PS). I named the tracks somewhat logically so it's easier for you to browse them. The .zip file also includes the speeches, but you can then delete them if you don't need them. The soundtrack has been encoded in 3 different popular formats, so go ahead and pick your favorite format.

Download TR1 Saturn/PS Soundtrack

Download (in FLAC format) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N1BL1KKP) 123 MB, Best Quality, Lossless (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lossless) audio, max compression
You need to download and install the FLAC codec (http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html) to play .flac files

Download (in OGG format) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YDWW688S) 26 MB, ID tags, 160 kbps
You need to download and install the Ogg Vorbis codec (http://www.vorbis.com/) to play .ogg files

Download (in MP3 format) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=I46XDCD8) 31 MB, ID tags, 160 kbps

HOW TO DOWNLOAD FROM MEGAUPLOAD:
1. Click the **Download** link.
2. Enter the random letters to the box and click "Download"
3. Wait 45 seconds. Close the popup flash window that appears. When the timer stops running, click the "Click here to download" button. A download dialog should appear. Just remember to choose "Save to disk". Your download should start now.

Do I download both FLAC and OGG?

Karri

You only need to choose one of them. I assume you are not sure what FLAC and OGG formats are and therefore you don't have their codecs installed. So I'd suggest you to download it in the MP3 format, once I get it uploaded.

I have chosen FLAC.

In that case, you need to install the FLAC codec (http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html) too. If you are on Windows, MP3 is the easiest choice since you don't have to download any additional codecs to be able to listen to them.

FLAC is basically a format for the audiophiles. If you don't have high quality speakers, you can't really tell the difference in quality between mp3 or flac.

I have installed "FLAC 1.1.2 for Windows with installer" and I clicked the file I would like to play. But it says I dont have the apropriate permissions to access this item.

Hmm, that's weird. You may need to restart your system for the changes to take effect. All my audio players can play them without any problem. Have you tried to open them with the Windows Media Player?
Also, this might happen if your Windows system access level is set to limited.

I did reboot my comp just not long ago. I'll try restarting my comp later on.

Woops, now I have messed up big time.... :o
I always thought that Tomb Raider on Saturn was one of the few Saturn games that are not mixed mode cd's... Well as it turned out, it freakin is a mixed mode cd. This means the audio tracks on the CD are in audio CD format, which means I can directly rip them from the source = even better quality, in fact the best possible. How the hell did I miss this! Grraah! A big thanks goes to aussie500 for pointing my stupid ass in the right direction. I will take the .zip files offline until I replace them with the directly ripped versions. Sorry for the hassle... :hea:

To all the peeps who downloaded the .zip file:

I suggest you download it again. I have replaced the files with the directly ripped versions. Now the quality is crispy clear, the best possible, exactly the same as in the game (flac).

OGG and MP3 versions have been re-uploaded, FLAC will appear shortly.

EDIT: All uploaded.

Thanks for that Karri, l will download the MP3 version later, it will be handy to have, l usually just burn another copy of my game disc if our "audio" one becomes unplayable. Just out of curiosity how did you rip the tracks?

Just out of curiosity how did you rip the tracks?

I just opened the original CD tracks in iTunes (it automatically recognized the tracks) and converted them there to uncompressed wav, 44,1 kHz 16 bit stereo (audio cd standard). Then converted the files to FLAC with dBpowerAmp using the maximum compression settings. Then converted from wav to OGG 160 kbps, again with dBpA. I did the 160 kbps mp3's in iTunes as the mp3 encoding license comes as a free feature in it. That's about it.

Hi Karri,
Just been reading this post ( and the rest of the thread ) I have tryed to download the MP3 link that you posted, but Megaupload says that
"The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable "
Any ideas. Or can you check to see if they are still there ?

Is there any chance that you can put them on "speedyshare , rapidshare" .. etc if you find problems with megaupload ?

Edited.............

Forget the above. I have tried again and managed to get your file this time.
Annoying ..:hea:
