I assume most of you guys have got past this issue.
TR1, being a DOS game, only supports 4 buttons , right?
but i'd rather not use my keyboard in tandem with my pad, i wanna use my shoulder buttons as well, which the button configuration screen doesn't recognize.

i've been pointed in the direction of the "joytokey" program which supposedly helps, but i just cant get it to do what i want. it's not that user-friendly.

what can i do?
cheers peeps.

that looks helpful!
i shall experiment tomorrow and respond.

if this works, i'll have the complete package (tr1+gold, glidos, new textures, and a pad that plays it perfectly)

thanks! i'll get back to you!

"Shoulder buttons"???
If you are talking about a PS2-type gamepad, the 'shoulder buttons' are the ones located on the top of the pad, like in this (http://images.google.co.uk/url?q=http://www.geeks.com/imageshare/G/150x150/GPS2RCF-soft.gif&sig=__CSpVJsiqCDThNa4wXHtQuQxogfY=) view Joseph. For PS players, they are used to control looking, walking etc. in the TR games :)

i'm quite surprised by that!
if i recall correctly, even the SNES pads referred to them as shoulder buttons, but don't quote me on that.

anyway, i'm now running super-duper-hi-res TR1 with an 8 button pad, and i might call in sick tomorrow (i'm serious).
my first time going through TR1 too.
i'm mighty impressed.

thanks again for the joytokey tutorial. some strange hiccups i came across, but i recommend it wholeheartedly.
thanks everyone.
