does it add alot more music, or just little bits now and again?
i dont want the game to have too much music, ambience is king, after all.
"discovery" music, for when you find a new location is what i'm hoping for. Is that the sort of thing it does?

No. If you play the PC version, you have exactly what you like: "ambience is king".

Which audio pack exactly are you referring to btw?

Well as it says:
Audio Pack (Download (http://www.glidos.net/audio.html?lang=en) - Freeware, Under development)
Supplied by GLIDOS, this audio pack brings the PlayStation Audio to the PC. When the original Play Station version of Tomb Raider was ported over to the PC platform, it was such a shame that so much of Nathan McCree's haunting music was lost. This method will, when complete, provide an alternative solution for the corrupted audio tracks on the Sold Out version. GLIDOS v1.29 or later required.
One of the strongest points of TR1 PC version is the lack of those audiotracks which kill the ambient sounds and the sense of being alone in the adventure.

This pack adds a tune on almost every corner and predicts what's going to happen. "Ooohh i hear an enemy is near!"

Leave it, or try it, you can always uninstall the pack again if you don't like it. And if you like it, you'll be disappointed the pack stops after level 3.

Yes. I tried it so i know i prefer TR1 without. :)

But i have to say: as such, the PSX tracks is very beautifull music! :tmb: Fine to hear standalone.
