View Full Version : Problems with 3d Acceleration

Hi, I'm using dgvoodoo to play TR I but I can't change the resolution and can't get no 3d acceleration. The graphics looks like playstation's TR. Is it possible to achieve a graphical quality similar to Glidos using dgvoodoo, I mean, with hardware acceleration?

If I change the dgvodoo config. Game resolution to
1024x 768, it always starts the game in a low res (640,480, I guess) and pixelated.

I always set the config to DOS, but if I close and return to the dialog it's set to windows. (no data saving)

can I edit the config file by text?

Thanks a lot.

Joseph

DgVoodoo.setup always opens in Windows Platform by default. Nothing wrong with that.

To change settings for TR1 you always first have to select the DOS platform again.

Hello.

Your graphic drivers are far out of date.
Hang on, i'll give you the link for download...

Joseph
07-10-06, 22:36
Wait. Why did you edit your dxdiag report? I see no Processor, no drives...

Joseph
07-10-06, 22:46
You have a Sony Vaio?

Anyway, X200 is very basic, don't expect great performance.
X200 is badly supported as well. The newer Catalyst don't support that chip.
That is the reason you should use the Omega drivers (http://www.omegadrivers.net/ati/win2k_xp.php). :tmb:
Important: first uninstall the previous ATI drivers. Use Ati CatUninst.exe (http://www.jozefdekkers.nl/Trforum/Computer/cat-uninstaller.zip) for that.

Hi Joseph and googa! :)

Joseph, do you remember me posting about my new laptop? It has X200M too, and Tomb Raider 1 works like a charm, but with dgvoodoo 1.40+. With 1.31 I had crashes and couldn't play in high resolutions.

Sorry, I'm going to bed now, tomorrow I'll try to help if it is necessary.

Joseph
07-10-06, 23:17
Ahhhh... Zebius! Good you posted. No, i forgot that! :)

EDIT: that info must be added to the TR1 FAQ. Thanks again Zebius. :tmb:
