It will be fine come the time of release.

Not surprising really. 360 suffered from the same problems at it's launch.

It's just new technology and it will take a few months to sort out initial bugs and glitches. This is why you should avoid buying a PS3 or any console at launch.

Really, anything that has a fan in a in-closed area will always have the pontential to overheat.

But I agree with undertaker, it's best to wait awhile after launch so the company can work out the kinks of the console if there is any.

Not to mention you have to treat your console properly... people complain about consoles scratching discs and all kinds of crazy things, but that's often because they move the units around with discs in them, not to mention they probably mis-use the games themselves. I know people who leave game discs lying around out of cases, pile stuff on top of their consoles, etc. They have a lot of nerve wondering why they're having problems then!

Hopefully.
I've pre-ordered a PS3 and I am quite anxious to find out if there will be any serious bugs.

£550 which is around $900 - $1000.
But it does include 3 games with it.

Yes, but only 3-5 percent of them.

All consoles have a certain failure rate. The PS2 is hands-down the worst offender though. It is known as much for the Disc Read Error problem as it is it's great game selection!

Not if you think about it.
Each game costing 50 (which apparently they will)
That's 400, which is a bit more expensive than the 360.

Do the new PS2 re-releases also have these errors? I'm considering getting a PS2 redesign if it gets a little cheaper and I'd like to know if I can expect to be free of these errors or not :)

At an exchange rate of 1.85 dollars to a pound that is about $90 per game. Here in the states XBox360 games are about $40-$60 (used or new). A 360 costs $400 and a PS3 is going for about $600. You guys are getting shafted.

At 400 pounds you are talking about $740.

Uncertain about that... my guess would be NO but again, that's just a guess. The original design always seemed to have fairly high instances of that. I did hear that the redesign PS2 doesn't play PS1 games as well...

That's one of the many reasons why i'm moving out to the states. :)

Well, I'm happy with my X-Box 360. As long as the game which I want are released for it, I'm good to go. I don't see a lot of point in having 2 Next-Gen consoles...

One of the main reasons why i'm gonna have 2 is because of the games.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is a PS3 exclusive.

Yeah, that does :cen: me off a bit. Although the controllers are a bit different from each other, I would have loved to play MGS on my X-Box 360. And Tekken 6, which is also going to be released on PS3 only.
