Does anyone else's PS2 have trouble 'reading' PS1 discs? I've got a whole bunch of classic PS1 titles yet my PS2 refuses to play them. It will play DVD's and anything PS2, but nothing for PS1.

I'm seriously considering trying to buy an old PS1 on Ebay or something.

If I were you I'd buy a used PS1... I bought one for $30.00 about 8 months ago... I hooked it up to my 2nd TV for when I want to play PS1 games (some, like the TR's, just don't look so hot on my big screen tv).

Nope, I can play any ps1 game just fine. Never had any problems.

Do you have one of those flat, small ps2?
I´ve read that they don´t play ps1 games very well.

Well, I've had my PS2 since April 2002. I suppose it's getting on a bit. It stopped playing some PS1 games about a year ago. Now it doesn't play any at all.

Well, if I was you, I'd try to get my hands on a PSOne. But if you can't do that, you should try getting another PS2. :)

Hmmm. Very strange. I have one of those small Silver PS2s and it plays PS1 games without any problems.

Nope, none.

According to Wikipedia, the slim Ps2 does not support internal hard disk drive (whatever that might be), and can have problems playing some Ps1 games.

You can play PS1 games on the PS2 as long as it is an original PS1 game, with the black underside.
