Because it serves as a training ground for the real game. So you don't need to spent too much time there.

Moreover it was the first mansion level that was made for a TR game, so it was partly experimental and since Lara had a few easy moves back then, they could be 'taught' to the players quickly and easily without much training; besides it had no outdoor areas, so its setting had to be limited anyway. The mansions of TR2 and TR3 are much more elaborate (esp. the TR3 one, which is like a complete level with puzzles and all).

Just a mini practise level until you get a shot on playing the game! Obviously the game dosen't include many skills Lara could have in the game.

Like other Mansions its just a practise level to get you fit for the proper game. As you will notice Lara dosen't head for outdoor areas, so Core didn't inlcude any outdoor practises.

Ladders, wasn't in the game so there will be no lader practise in the Mansion.

So overall it's just a practise training feild.

And more of all When you first jump into the pool and you climb out she says right let's change these wet clothes or something like that and the training mansion ends.

I disagree the legend mansion is better cuz it never ends til you quit. Plus there are lots of puzzles there. Anyway lets get back on topic

But in my opinion, it gets boring in the end, because after you've played for 10 minutes, and found all the items (Guns, etc), and rewards, there's no point in playing anyway. Even afater you've mastered the controls for TR1, you can still go back the the mansion and play again, with there being some point in doing so. Maybe even time yourself.
Anyway, let's forget about this and get back on topic, like you said. :)

Alright I agree with you now back on topic. There's only 5 steps in the gym in the TR1 manor unlike TR3 which has 8.
