Tomb Raider I, Help I am stuck in the Coliseum

I am stuck in the room with the three gates. As I jump on the mat to open the first two gates, I run to the room on the left, pull that lever, hop to the mat in that room and try to run to the other room but the gates close too fast. Do you have any tips.

Marcialovescats, welome! This is a very tricky spot. You must get it perfect and fast. Head around to the left of the rocks and kill another Lion. Slide down into the room below. Go forwards and
into the far alcove on the right. You'll see a square in the right hand corner that opens both gates behind
you. Step on the square and then head through the gate on the right. Pick up the Small Med Pack.
There's a floor square in this room that will open the exit. Now head back up to the square in the corner.
Run across it from the left and head for the door on the left. Run in and head for the lever. Throw it, do a
roll and then run out and around to the left.
Enter the other room and quickly run through the door on the right. Throw the lever here and then go back
out and step on the square to open the exit. Go out and take a right. Head down the slope into a room with
spikes. Turn left and run into another area with large rocks. Make a left and head to the end. Make your
way up the rocks until you can come out near the top of the large rocks in the arena.
