View Full Version : "Edit Object" Function
I was wondering... I know this option is a bit buggy and unused, but I really wanna know if you can use it in the dxtre3d, too.

Is it possible?

Sorry. No. There is not a function like that implemented in DXtre3d.
So, there is no way to make something like the solid dinner table in Lara's house? :(
(Well, actually I know another way to do that but I think it's far more tricky...)
It will be nice to see dxtre3d revision with possibility of adding "invisible" landscape blocks independent to visible room geometry. I hope that it will be released some day, because it is one of the few dxtre3d's drawbacks in the way of becoming the best TR level editor ever.
Anyway, now you can use two different methods to create something like "edit object" function. First method is you should create your table with additional floor mesh that will fit squares under the table, then raise floor to the level of table's height and texture this room part with invisible textures.
Second method is more complicated. You must create room in dxtre3d with desired topography, then compile level, load it into RView and then edit room mesh with external DXF tool (like Meta).
Is there a 'dummy trigger' function in Dxtre3d. This could be used to the same effect.
Of course, i forgot about this... It's possible to create invisible block with BRIDGE_FLAT object and TRAPDOOR trigger, but it's not too good to have a lot of dummy objects and triggers in the level...
you just need one bridge_flat object for the same height, it doesn't even need to be in the same room... as long as the dummy trigger is under lara, lara will treat the air as the platform.
