I'm not sure.. I think it is. But you need to install a copy that has lots of features disabled to make it fit on better.

I have installed Ubuntu to a 5gb memory stick before, but its slow and I have heard it can damage the drive (because of lots and lots of use)

1-It's depend of the flash's memory , if it is 1Gb and + , sure you can :tmb:
2-if it's less , you can compress it :)

(personally i have a compressor which can compress 1Gb of data to 1Mb :D :yah: )

Heh.

Any decent packer can compress 1GB to 1MB if the data's just redundant enough.

Top Secret !!!! :D :D :Dwhy wont you tell us ? i'd like to know the name too :D
edit : also because if i use winrar and try to compress something, it remains the same file size as if it wasn't compressed X.x

oK OK , i'll give you some indications :

To compress smoothly without problems and easily , you should have the following specs :
P4 1,5 Ghz
RAM 256 Mb ;)
4 Mb in the Hard drive

And this is the most powerful Archiver over the world , it beats 7-Zip and other.....

You can choose degrees before compressing :
-Minimum
-Very Weak
-Weak
-Normal
-Medium
-Good
-Very good
-Extreme !
-Maximum

The problem is that it takes time to compress , especially if you choose the best ones ! :p :p

Well , i said everything , so you can guess now ! :D

You do realize you missed April 1st by several months. Not many people are gonna fall for this now.

it's KGB Archiver (see my previous post) :D
edit : i'm testing it, file size : 300 MB
result : ( used normal compression)
compressed to :
ZIP : stays 300 MB
KGB : stays 300 MB

what i do noticed that the "time remaining" doesn't work to well, so don't trust it

weird...

i tihnk the site is lieng, UHARC is still better :tea:

Yup , i realized that i've missed above medium :) ;)

and decompression time is really FFFFFFAAASSSTT :yik: faster than winzip and winrar :D

And yes time remaining is false around 4500 hours :vlol:

And yes time remaining is false around 4500 hours :vlol:now, : 6,4 GB --> 766198 hours :vlol:
now 26 minutes , :vlol:
it says :
size before compression : 6.4GB
size after compression : 900,3 MB (max 6.4 GB)

*it's working on file 4, each file is 300 MB. so i gain 300 MB *

ratio : 100%
time : **:**:**
remaining time : **:**:**

btw, what file type do you use ? zip or kgb ?

it stays the same size. can you explain me what you select, it doesn't seem to compress a thing, because the zipkgb file has the same size as if it was extracted

Is it possible?
Depends on what you mean by a Flash Disk. A CompactFlash card with an IDE adapter, yes, it's possible. An USB stick, yes, but not very easily (http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/09/09/windows_in_your_pocket/).
