Quite honestly, I really would like to see the original Mansion from the first game. Scenario: Lara's in her library training, the house is full of crates because the movers haven't been there to help yet, the ball room is an indoor gym.

However; I also really would like to see it expanded on, like the Mansion from TR2/3. Along with even more secrets, more challenges, more...well everything.

but what about a new Mansion all together? One that hasn't been in the Classics or Legend. She does have three, you know...lol

I remember some pics posted by Kiss-Bite. If the mansion were to look like that... :jmp:

I'm ok with the mansion unless it's like that Legend one. :)

It would be OK if it only LOOKED like Legend's. But other than that, I prefer Lara's Mansion over Croft Manor.

I don't really care. I like the Legend house, and there are lots of placed that still have to be made in the next games. The old mansion was nice, but after 10 years, I have seen nearly every part of it already. It would be nice to see it with the current graphics however. This game is a good time to remake the old house with new graphics. Then with TR8 and 9 they can open more doors on the new house.

When we come to TR10, they should make a third house for Lara, by then all doors on the legend house have been opened and everything is known already. If I remember well Lara has severial houses, and after those have all been made, she could buy a full castle :jmp:

yeah....and a whole GTA-like town for Lara. That would be awesome! But I guess your imagination is way too wild. :)

I just hope the Mansion has a big outside area like the old games

I've said before - I personally think it should be a "stripped down" version of the Legend mansion. That is, no "tech area", etc, but just a "past version" of what that mansion would have looked like at that time.

And of course, with an outdoors area and lots of other new rooms :)

I never really liked her mansion in the first game to be honest - I think overall the Legend one was better designed (asthetically at least, it lacked in substance)

I really like the Legend mansion. It actually made you think more than most of the game's actual levels. But since this is supposedly a remake, an updated version of the original manor with more secrets, etc. would be great. Perhaps like the one seen in FMV's in Chronicles.

I want the original mansion to come back. I mean Lara does own 3 estates according to her new biography. Besides that, we know the Legend manor will be expanded upon in future sequels so this might be the only chance we get for a while.

I hope we get a TR2ish version of the Mansion with crates like in TR1. And it doesn't force us to the main screen when we get out of the pool!

I want to see the mansion of TR1-3.
If the Legend-mansion is in TRA, I don't buy the game.
If they put the Legend-mansion in the new game, they also adjust Lara's bio (the crap with her parents) to the one of Legend. And I really don't want to see that. The last thing I want to see, is a picture of Angelina Jolie in her UN-party-outfit above the fire-place.
Livingstone's fancy with Angelina is the reason TR's decline.
Angelina never fit into the role, so he let Lara adjust to Angelina, he sacrified Lara. Now she's a figure who didn't remain true to herself.

But I suppose tr legend is more prone to the movies(techy geek guys, techy geek gadgets, techy geek techno musics)

I can't really say what I want in the LCTRA Manor. It all depends on various other things, like how you control Lara. If you control Lara like you do in Legend, then there's no point in having an obstacle course. If Winston isn't in it, I don't really want the fridge :p . If Lara's biography had changed, then I couldn't care less what the manor is like, because I won't be buying it.

The latest is, that Crystal Dynamics develops the game and Core is out. Of course Crystal Dynamics will develope on their engine, or do you believe we get our old controller, developed from Core, back? TR never got back to its roots. They promised, but in Legend they adjusted Lara completely to the movie. So, if they make a remake, they will create a stroyline similar to TR1 and TR2, but with the features of Legend. Something other wouldn't be logical. I wish it would be different.

But let's keep our chin up, surely the future could be better with new innovations from CD, I hope

Why don't you think that they'll make old game just in better graphics?

I would love to have the same Manor as in the 1st games. I would like also to be able to do all the things u caould in tr1 2 and 3 :) Like the labirynth, passing the obsticles for time. That way you can make your own records. And to that u can add a few things from legend... but not too much :p

Why don't you think that they'll make old game just in better graphics?

1) Because Crystal Dynamics develops the game and copying the game, Core developed, could cause legal problems. Of course this could be solved, but I think they would need to pay Core out.

2) Because the first game is hard to play and they develope for the American market. When Crystal Dynamics started to work on the game, I read somewhere, that they analyzed the behaviour of the gamers. As a result they realized that Europeans stay longer at the game, while Americans play shorter. If you play short, it's frustrating to solve complex missions, so they decided to make the games more easy. Do you remeber, how often Lara died in some situations and you had to try again and try again? I know some people who bought the game, but stopped playing it, because they found it too difficult.

3) I don't think it's so easy to transform the old game into new graphics. I think it takes more work, than we believe at the first moment. In Legend you find little work compared to TR1, I don't think Crystal Dynamics would make such a big game like TR1.

It would be my dream, they make the old game with new graphics, hope I'm wrong.

I don't know, It just seems to me that they will focus only on the game itself, witch is the reason for this celebration. Then there is this all battle with Original manor against legend manor, If they remake the original(I,II,III) I believe they would remake the one from Tomb Raider III, witch is the most complete and the one that would be more hard to redesign... But it would not make much sense for it to return now as the last house provided was the Legend one, witch I simply don't imagine in TR:A and if they liked the old mansion, the Legend one wouldn't exist, and honnestly I don't think they will want to waste time with the manor, specially after making the Legend Manor...

i would also like it to be like the original,.. of course with the posibility to open every door, even if its just for being empty,.. maybe you could start with a empty house, like in the original and finish it with the house already arrange, and lot of info and things to see, maybe more eastern eggs, and trophy rooms, and of course some more footage from big foot,.. and also the big foot level but as the harder thing to get and as unlockable,.. also i would like once you finish the game to be able to play with infinite uzis ammo,.. love them,..:)

I'm sure everybody would say "Yes" in the question "Should the same old original Mansion return?"

Well, yes else TRA would be inches from being thrown off board.

If you think about it, from a financial standpoint it wouldn’t really make much sense to spend the funds required to invest the time, manpower, and effort, to completely re-make a mansion that they’ve already re-imagined into what they most likely consider the definitive one, just to make it look like the original for the sake of nostalgia, when they already have a perfectly good mansion already designed.

Consider this; yes there are quite a few people that are un-impressed with the Legend mansion, (and also quite a few that thoroughly enjoyed it, like myself) but since there were quite a few rooms that were left unexplored from the Legend game, not to mention the fact that the outside grounds of the estate was almost completely ignored altogether, it is quite possible that they could include in the new mansion (assuming that it’s even in the game) rooms that are reminiscent or familiar to the ones used in the earlier game. i.e., the kitchen, relic room, bathroom, etc...

Personally, I couldn’t care less which one they use (if they do). Both had their strengths and weaknesses. But one thing I do insist on is familiarity of levels from the original TR1, in the base-game itself. If it doesn’t even come close to recapturing the ambiance, game-play, and the eerily surreal nature of the originals, then there’s just no reason to continue claiming that it’s a celebration...a remake of the original.

Like I've made mention in another thread, if Tomb Raider: Anniversary is to be tied-in with the Legend storyline (which I personally hope Crystal Dynamics will do), it would make sense that the original mansion from the classics would be one among the three manors comprising Croft Estates, which was mentioned in Lara's Legend biography.

If I remember it correctly, the Legend biography mentions that the National Trust maintains two of the other houses of the Croft Estates, the other one would be what is known to us as Croft Manor in Tomb Raider: Legend. I personally am hoping that the original mansion will be incorporated to this thing about the Croft Estates.

Croft Estates:
. Croft Manor (Legend)
. Lara's Mansion (Tomb Raider I, II, III) (In the care of National Trust as per the Legend biography)
. Unknown (In the care of National Trust as per the Legend biography)

That way, it would not have to be choosing one over the other. :)

There were still some places in Legend were the doors were locked. Maybee she could have a door to her garage with alll of her vehicles in it:cln: :cln:

Absolutely. I think that is a good point. :)

I personally say keep the Croft Manor for the new TR's and use the Mansion for the remake - makes sense in remake terms and story terms as above. :)
