I didn´t know you had made a shiva mod glad you like it about the gloss you have to found the glossy texture and make them transparent thats all;)but its truly nessesary to tell her face its ugly?i know the face its my weak point somethimes...:p

i think he was playing and replacing textures in the wet mesh of lara textures in lara wen she sweat the texture looks shiny but if i am wrong don´t know who he do that:p:D

Most of my skins use patterns overlayed across the original creases and bumps so I know what you mean about running out of cool patterns. I created a lot of my patterns after a while. Try making a seamless tile pattern and then overlaying a type of surface texture. For instance create a 256X256 image and dot it with small teddy bears in a close pattern that repeat. Then overlay another layer that has a fabric texture. You can immulate all kinds of fabric this way. If you have a seamless tile plugin use it to create seemless random patterns and then overlay a twill fabric to get something like rough cloth.

If you still need help with the shine on textures look at the alpha channel in the bump map this is usually what controls the model specular shine. The closer to black the less shine.

Transparancies are nice, the alpha channel gives you the ability to hide attachments but all it does for a model is hide the mesh that completes a model. When you hide part of the model then you hide the mesh that makes the model solid leaving a whole in the model.
I have re-installed Legend after quite some time of being away from it so I'm kind of waiting for some help myself but I did notice that you can create invisible textures from both the gloss map and the detail (skin) map. I still haven't explored all the possibilities of varying transparancies yet so I don't know the logistics of making a semi-transparent model but I believe it's possible when not in Next Gen by using the gloss map.
Right now I can't even find the bump map when not in next gen. I hope these very good skinners here can expedite my learning curve with some advice on what's available to manipulate in normal graphics mode.

That happens to me when I use a program that doesn't recognize the alpha channels/layers in the textures and loads and saves them incorrectly. It also happens when the textures are exported from the game in a format that doesn't support transparency.

I always use TGA. I am sure it supports transparency. You may need to log the textures again though.

The problem is not format but the graphic editing program you use since many formats support alpha channel; bmp, tga, dds, png, and some others. I have been fortunate enough to have many graphic editing programs available to me over the years. Photoshop seems to be the most easy to use on alpha channels but with a little practice there are cheaper alternatives.

Well I have done more on my KH level but have been spending more time on testing making the textures higher resolutions. I don't know who posted earlier but basically they showed that you could make the original texture files and make them higher resolution and thus get a better result in game. Like upgrading a 512*512 to 1024*1024 or to 2048*2048 even. So I decided to test this out and have some pictures of the results. I decided to do nextGen textures since you have more maps and thus can come up with a better result. My video card however does not fully support next gen because I don't have 3.0 shaders so these pictures are not the best quality you can see in the game but you can clearly see the difference the higher resolutions make. First I tried putting a high res pic on a computer screen in the mansion: http://thumb19.webshots.net/t/53/453/2/42/6/2966242060068434979LxDMlB_th.jpg (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2966242060068434979LxDMlB) As you can see the picture is clear even when zoomed at 100% unlike the objects around it like the sticky notes. It would be better to use the normal gen one ;) There are practically no differences between normal gen and next gen textures,
the only difference is that next gen texture have normal bump and shadow map applied ;)

Based on my inablity to find exactly what I wanted, here is my first mod. Lara has black hair, and I changed her makeup. Lips are now more natural, and the emphasis is on the eyes. I also smoothed out her facial skin.

Still needs some work though. Like eyebrow modding etc

Affects all Legend-type outfits.

Based on my inablity to find exactly what I wanted, here is my first mod. Lara has black hair, and I changed her makeup. Lips are now more natural, and the emphasis is on the eyes. I also smoothed out her facial skin.

Still needs some work though. Like eyebrow modding etc

Affects all Legend-type outfits.

Ive updated the mod now, eyebrows are thinner and darker, makeup is reduced, and I repainted the hair texture to be more natural. I also made a new outfit to replace the legend default - the outfit and the face/hair/guns are 2 seperate TPF files, so they can work together, or apart...

Thanks, for that it was basic - I just did a quick edit to make it black while I was busy painting my own texture:

I desaturated the brown texture, and played with brightness and contrast a bit- thats all :D
