My thought about this topic is that it will cause fights - even if you don't intend it to. Since I've been here, I've seen two gargantuan sexuality threads get closed because of big disagreements!

Edit: I also think any lesbian members might raise an eyebrow or two at being called 'Lesiban'. ;)

I don't know what to say. It isn't wrong to have a thread about this. I have nothing against gay, lesbians and bisexual. Cause... well, I have no reason to hate or dislike them. they don't choose to be gay, lesbian, bisexual so there isn't something wrong. That's all what I have to say:p

Asexual = not interested in sex with anyone. Unlike celibacy, it's not a choice, it's just instinct, the same as being gay or straight. I'm interested in having sex with a man or woman about as much as most of you are interested in having sex with an electric fence.

Asexual: A person who does not experience sexual attraction.

Welcome to the Asexual Visibility and Education Network. AVEN hosts the world’s largest online asexual community as well as a large archive of resources on asexuality. AVEN strives to create open, honest discussion about asexuality among sexual and asexual people alike.

Unlike celibacy, which is a choice, asexuality is a sexual orientation. Asexual people have the same emotional needs as everybody else and are just as capable of forming intimate relationships.

Yep! It's essentially the same thing: Other people assuming you're one sexuality, and you come out as another.

In my friends case - people thought he was gay and she was a lesbian (simply because of the way they behaved) until they 'came out'. I suppose it also helped that they never really talked about sex, so nobody really knew.

Gay/Lesbian/BiSexual

Gar/Ba/Ge.

Geck-o-Lizard

Indeed, but without classifications it's impossible for us to comprehend what's in the world. You could say it's a load of rubbish to make distinctions between people from different countries, but it doesn't change the fact that they're not all the same.

I said 'so far' because I've only had boyfriends but who knows, I might fall in love with a woman. I'm not ruling anything out.

Also I think it's wrong to say when someone's fully decided about their sexuality. I don't think it really is a matter of decision in the first place. And second, it might take years to realize.

'Civil unions' - no problem what so ever. Gay 'marriage' is a tricky thing. 'Marriage' being a religious ceremony to join a man and a woman in the eyes of God. Not a man and a man, nor a woman and a woman. It's just a small technicality though ;)

I think it's ridiculous - and plain unfair - that the question should even arise. I mean, no one ever asks, "Do you think straight people should be allowed to marry?" So unless you think that gay people are somehow inferior to straight people, why shouldn't they have the same rights?

Sorry for getting into scientific terms but you need a sperm cell, and an egg cell.

Why everyone cares what ?

I can see Angels666's point, We should really have to know other peoples sexuality, but these threads often result in some good conversations

Sorry but those smilies are ever so cute * takes the 2nd one*

That's sexual discrimination! A rainbow could sue you if it had the means! Just because it likes dressing in flamboyant colours, doesn't define its sexual preference!!!!

:tea: :ton:

It was only a matter of speaking. No offence meant. :p

what age do you guys think the best time to come out is ?

Rivendell
05-11-06, 00:24
When they're ready. Some people come out when they're around 15 or less. I'd say the most 'common age' is around 18 - but I'm only guessing.

Ohh right. Well I came out to my friends a lot earlier than I came out to my family, it was just easier. I think I was 14 when I told my mates, and 17 when I told my family.

Sounds like what im planning... i told my friends last year ( 15 ) and im gonna tell my parents when i move out ( 18 ) so they wont be able to kick me out since i will already be out :vlol:

As in if a girls best friend is a guy... I think it is true.. i mean not a rule but it is true most of the time. My best friend is a girl. Same with alot of my other gay friends. Its just easier to talk to them for some reason

Tis a plan :tmb: Although it's quite unfortunate that you have to worry that they might kick you out for your sexual orientation.

Well my dad always uses really anti-gay terms while insulting someone " **** sucker ", " fag " etc. so im not sure if he would do anything... but my mom would really be upset. she would most likely go in denial telling me im joking... that this couldnt happen. She would then go on about how her child got tainted. Then most likely tell me all the bad things being gay would bring etc. etc. She is against it... REALLY against it.

Ahh I see.

I told my mum first out of my family - I'm closest to her out of my mum and dad, my dad being a vicar, I didn't fancy telling him. I just told her I was bisexual after a few days stressing out about wanting to tell her, and she just smiled, shrugged and said 'Ok!' :) , then progressed to say how she was worried I was going to say something like I was dropping out of school! :D

Now thats unforunate, and pathetic if you don't mine me saying, why would any parents go into denail, you are their child and would love them no matter what, not go into denail and kid yourself its a dream etc

I actually prefer to go to lesbian bars, though. It´s so much more fun than straight or gay bars! :D Lesbians are lovely.

[QUOTE=Mad Tony]What just because you and another member had a fight before, that isn't a reason to close this current thread.QUOTE]

im saying it should be closed because it will start arguments and its classed as a controversial subject. i said that me and another member did argue but im not saying it was us two that got the thread closed. this thread needs to be closed because after reading ppls views ive already seen things which will cause controversy and fights between one another. its pointless. why make a thread on gay people anyway? you dont see str8 people making a thread saying what are your views on str8 ppl?

Well I don't know how this topic managed to get under my radar, but it did, totally.

Members, we have seen this topic on forum inumberable times.
Always it has ended in rancour and disputation. Always it has progressed into gross and total irrelevancies, and details not at all suitable for the forum. In reviewing the thread this evening, already I have seen such matters and specificities made mention of.

This is an old road for us here, very boring and very irrelevant, and it is nigh on impossible to discuss the topic without the associated risks we have seen so often. I am therefor closing this thread.
