I caught it with a worm! I've never seen goldfish here so I'm surprised. Since it's a goldfish I decided to keep it as a pet. It's on the left. I put some fish food in the tank and it ate it. :)

Where/how did you catch it?

I caught it with my fishing rod in a pond way out back in the forest. Are they rare?

Most gold fish are carp and are, over here anyway, counted as noxious animals. Best place for them is a fishtank. Probably an old pet. Would have given you a surprise. Hardly what you were expecting to see!

I've never known goldfish to be wild. I thought they were just reared in pet shops and people's ponds.

Heh.

Some have been released. :)
I think goldfish are illegal some places, because if released in nature, they could cause severe damage to water...

Well, our garden pond has a goldfish in it that just appeared overnight last year... Nobody has a clue how it got there. Maybe you caught one of those mysterious apparating fish.

It's strange since the pet shops have many of them yet you never see them in the waters. I wonder where they reside. It's a pretty little angel. :)

Everytime I see goldfish, I can't help remembering that awesome scene from 'A Fish Called Wanda' where Kevin Kline grabs that goldfish from Wanda's tank and eats it down in a second :D :whi:

On the left you say, the white one with orange stripes on his head? If so, what a good looking fish lol.

Nice catch :D I don't think there are wild goldfish, as in truly native to lakes or rivers or ponds. They do have wild relatives, but what we know as "goldfish" is always bred by people. When one's found in the wild it's because someone released it (or its ancestors). It's illegal in most places but some people still do it. Here in Croatia there's at least one pond with a thriving goldfish population as a result of people throwing their fish in there when they get bored of keeping them.

There are some families that live around the forest and they use the pond. I don't understand why they'd get rid of such a precious pet!

Are you joking? They're cute! *makes fish face* :D
