View Full Version : 3 VERY strange bugs on Primal PS2 (Contains SPOILERS!)
I was playing Primal today and I had these 3 very strange bugs happen in the game.
In the Poor Quarters in the Solum Realm, I got Jen to open a door and all the buildings just disappeared.
Devena's Fortress - Scree just ended up in a BIG BLACK SPACE of NOTHING. I had to go to the room where he got the rope to fix it.
This one really annoyed me. Devena's Fortress again, in one of the corridors, FOUR ENEMIES just appeared out of nowhere.
STUPID BUGS!!! :hea:

I have a pre-owned copy of Primal for PS2 and have never had any big bugs with it. The worst thing I experienced was having the camera get stuck on Jen's chest whilst she was changing form. The slow jiggling was quite hypnotic... O-o :D
Mine is pre-owned too. Got it for £15.99. I'm now in the Volca Realm. I just seem to get the bugs in the Solum Realm. I have completed the game 3 times. I can never find all the Tarot Cards though.
I think there was a bug with lighting the torches in early Volca, though I played long ago.
And oh, the disappearing audio. Some lines just weren't played from time to time.

My copy was free. :D There was a special offer at Game- 3 games for the price of 2.
I've found about 2 thirds of the tarot cards so far.

Yes, I have also had that happen.
Another bug in Volca, in the cutscene where the possessed Jen attacks Scree the swords didn't show up so it looked she was hitting him with nothing. LOL!

I had that one too. It depends how many times you watch the cutscenes in a row. The swords appear almost every other time you watch it I think.

With the exception of AOD, Primal is the buggiest game I've ever played; but it was so good I still consider it one of the best PS2 games out there.

I loved the game from start to finish and have re-played it often but I've never had any bugs with it what so ever. I have the UK version and it plays great but I did hear there was some nasty bugs in the US version.
I think its one of the best games on the PS2 and I'd really like them to make a sequel for next-gen consoles!!
Jen against Abadon's army on the PS3, and maybe Xbox 360 too, would be so cool! :yah:
Well since the game was made by one of Sony's studios I doubt it'd be going to the Xbox 360 Jay :p
But yeah, brill game. I encountered a few bugs (one problematic, the others very minor) but it's still a great game. Even better that it has Hudson Leick voicing Jen. Hudson plays Callisto in Xena - one of my fav. TV shows :D

True it won't go to 360 but Xbox 360 needs a great adventure game :(
Hudson was brilliant as the voice for Jen, she really brought her character to life, she's definetly a talented actress :tmb:
Scree was funny too, and really well voiced by that guy - can't remember his name now :p
The relationship between Jen and Scree - where Jen was very sarcastic and witty and Scree is very serious reminded me of Buffy and Giles in the early years of the tv show :D
Now that you mention that about Buffy/Giles and Jen/Scree, it is quite similar. I've never noticed that until now :D
Did any of you guys realise that Rob Browne (Karel - AOD) voiced Herne and Eric Loren (Kurtis - AOD) voiced Lewis in Primal? And yeah, Hudson definitely is very talented :).

I've never noticed these kind of bugs the first time I played it... But the second time it was full of bugs! But the cool gameplay and the graphics made me forgive them :p:D

Oh how sad! :( I had no idea.
His voice acting (along with lovely Hudson Leick- who's a PS2 fanatic and therefore my kind of girl!) is one of the many things I love about Primal. I think it's one of the best games with regards to story and characters I've played. I would love a sequel but I can't imagine who else could play Scree as well.

As for the game itself, though having a dodgy combat system, the areas are vast and the game is beautifully made. Jen is a sympathetic heroine who doesn't fall into the cliches so many other female game characters do. And her interaction and chemistry with Scree is amazing. There are over 2 hours of cut scenes in this game and I enjoyed them more than I did any of the cut scenes in Legend. Infact, I think Primal more than made up for the empty feeling I got from TR:L. Once I completed Primal I just reset the console and started again from the beginning.
My favorite level is Aeitha (with the vampire wraiths!)

Primal was one of the best games I bought last summer. I'm away from home at uni till december and haven't played a game in months as a result. but I have cravings for this game quite often despite completing it 3 times. It's just my kind of game I guess. I even loved the music by 16Volt. Electronic punk rock isn't every one's cup of tea but I adored it so much I bought their 'best of' album a few months ago. I still listen to it every day. Infact I spent 3 hours listening to it today whilst typing up an essay for uni. Man I've fallen hard for this game! :D
