Back to the topic, I've done that too...
My friends [non-TR players] didn't really understand my fascination to jump up on a balcony and run over rooftops... :D
When I play another game where the character jumps in a clumsy manner I can't help wishing he did it properly, like Lara. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
By the way, anyone here knows about a sport called "parkour" that was based in computer games (Tomb Raider for sure) where people really go about jumping rooftops and climbing walls in a manner you didn't think possible?

Hehe, sometimes when I watch movies, I do that too I randomly shout out "NO! Jump back, quick jump right and backflip!" It's weird I can like feel my feet moving around pretending I'm doing them.
Another problem I face is when I'm exploring forests or something (there's a lot of them around my house) I find myself saying "I could see that as a level in Tomb Raider..."

I usually shout at Lara if i kill her, or she falls of a ledge, im like...
"What you doing Lara!" or "Argh you stupid woman"
Quite sad also lol, seeing as im the one in control of her.

I can remember times, years ago, when I would think "Jump! Sideflip! Backflip!" as a solution to some problem I was having in real life.
I can't remember exactly what I was doing but somehow that was the solution to my little dilemma.
Then I realized - wait, I can't do any of those things. Made me kinda sad :(

Haha I can remember being like 10 and playing in the backyard pretending to be on a Tomb Raider mission. I was so imaginative. The sun sculpture on the fence was possessed and I had to shoot it with my water pistol. The pistol was yellow and orange only because it was custom made by the FBI for me. My pond was a secret entrance to the island i was on. I always tried to turn around while rolling. How the heck does Lara do it? Also I remember practicing my jumps in the house. I was positively obsessed. and well.... Still am! ;)
EDIT: Also the top of my slide was usually a time machine or escape capsule because sometimes a dragon would come up in the middle of the walk and I would have to escape with the artifacts (shiny rocks).

I was quite pathetic when i was 12, me and my brother went to the park and did a TR Mission, we climb up poles, vaulted on ladders and pretended to get out Pistols and Shotguns, it was so funny looking back at it now, but i always thought how can she do all of that jumping and climbing without a break???.

http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif @ JasonDavies! I did the same thing! Sometimes I still do that... Even at 16... Just kidding. But my sister and I used to do that all the time, and in the backyard, those were the days!
While I don't share the same enthusiasm as most of you, when I play games like Prince of Persia 3D or Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, I can't help but feel that Tomb Raider so much better, and while these two games stole a lot from Tomb Raider, they should also stolen the great moves of Lara.

OK well call me sad but I still play at Lara with the kids I babysit for and I thoroughly enjoy myself!! I often test my 'Lara abilities'. The other day I decided it would be easy to climb out of my first floor bedroom window. Turns out it wasn't. The ground looks much further away when you are outside the window. But I did it! When I went back inside my mum said " I didn't hear you go out the front door." She thinks she is going mad

My mum doesn't like Lara.My mom ofter wears a ponytail because she has long hair so she thinks she's Lara. Oh please! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif
Speaking of shouting, I also like shout at Lara when she (read: I) do/did something wrong and, in rarely situations, curse. My mom doesn't like that, too. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif

We have this long stucco wall about 10 ft from the ground in our backyard, during a game of extreme nighttime hide-n-seek I was sneaking along the top of the wall and I decided to jump down, grab the ledge and shimmy sideways. It looks so easy in the game, but I ended up jerking my shoulders and cutting up my knee on hte way down. My brother was watching and he burst out laughing and said, "Was that the tomb raider move -- ha ha ha you can't really do that in real life!"
Well... has anyone ever successfully jumped off a wall, grabbed the ledge and shimmied sideways??
OMG! I feel so sorry for ya, I know you feel like u GOTTA try it cos Lara can do it... but I've never tried and never will as I know I'm not half as good as Lara!

Oh dear, we all have that problem. I'm going to make my own Tomb Raider stunt movie. I think you should punch your brother or something. :(
My cousin and I used to run around with sticks and pretend they were shotguns when we were younger. I remember trying to jump over a fence like Lara once, but I never made it to the other side; I got my foot caught and fell flat on my face...

Several times I've looked at some balconies and buildings and found myself thinking "Let's see, a running jump from that balcony could allow me to catch the edge of that next building..." - even though I have a bad knee and am overweight and middle-aged! And it's only AFTERWARDS that I realize I'm searching for places to perform Tomb Raider moves!
But this is no occasion for embarassment, it just shows how involving the games are. And if they're NOT involving, why in the hell are we playing?

You know, the Jump London ones that run around on tops of buildings. I watched that program and thought of new moves for Lara. I wish I could do stuff like that. My friend tried to do that railing thing one night where they just completely clear a railing when they jump over but unfortunately he had had a little too much drink and his foot hit the top of the bar and he fell flat on his face and broke his two front teeth. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif

ha and I thought I was the only one to do all this stuff.. I used pretend to be Tomb Raider in my garden... I also have the perfect Lara top, I actually still have it.
Then when I was in Egypt well that was pure Tomb Raider heaven because I also had the best shoes.
And just the other week (yes im 16, i dont grow up) I was away and we had a swimming pool, and come on how can you not be Lara when your in a pool, I even managed to master the turning around under water.
Also when I go through obsessions *cough*now.. I tend to wear my hair in a plait and clothes similar to the ones in Angel of Darkness.. the black top, denim jacket and jeans.
I thought I was the only one who did that! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif I have long brown hair and wear it in a braid when I play TR. I have also been wearing the jeans, denim jacket and dark top. I am not alone!!! And I remember wanting to try the roll, this was only a week ago people, and i am 14, so I ran towards the bed and jumped on and rolled. The first time I hit the wall and was winded but after that I got it. Haven't done it in a while. I think I'll try it now. I can still do it! Man, I am good.

About a week ago I was on beach and I decided to make a swan dive. It was so weird. :D And I also tried to shimmy once. Bad results, similar to XxxxLaraxxxX's. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif :D

"Let's see the ending of this level called Rooftops of Mexico is where I have to drop off from the roof down two stories and land safely. The next level begins there, it's called The Tacos of Vilcabamba."

I cant dive. I always do a belly flop. I remember when I was little, I couldnt do the monky bars so I would shimmy on the outside rail. It was quite fun if I do say so myself. When I lived in LA I used to go to China Town and I could always imagine Lara trying to blend in and have contacts there who tell her about ancient artifacts. For those who haven't been there it is a very TR-ery place. (i thought) It is kind of gritty and has lots of character and culture. And I just watched that Street Climber video and that is so awesome. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif How do they not break their necks?
