Tomb of Legends

"New paths are being added to open the world up, providing a denser, more challenging mode of adventure. Puzzles you remember, like the simple cog in the wheel, are being turned into tasks that require more steps and points of logical approach.

Mm, I sure do like the sound of "Challanging" new paths! They make it sound like Legend was childs play (and was XD) compared to Anniversary. I hope it rubs off onto them for TR8!

Ditto :tmb:

I hope they achieve the 'isolation and atmosphere' that they're going after as well!

I'm hoping it is more challenging :)

I also hope it'll be more challenging and puzzled. :)

Yeah I defaintly think that Crystal have nailed it this time. I've decided now, it was right for Eidos to hand TR over to CD, there doing more with Tomb Raider then Core ever could have! Core was stuck with the idea that Every game should be like the last. They even used the grid-system for there Anniversary! How lame, 10 years and they hadnt change TR1 a bit, I bet it was the same game with new graphics, thats it!

I could: "defaintly" should be spelled "definately". ;)

2kool4u
25-11-06, 01:43
lol its just a lil typo

domina
25-11-06, 01:44
It's actually "definitely." ;)

(Unless Europeans spell it differently? I'm fairly certain that's the universal spelling, though I could be wrong.)

Joseph

Really? :) *tries: d e f i n i t e l y. * OK. English is not my mothertongue, so if you say so i believe you.

25-11-06, 01:51
i always spelled it your way. someone use spell check

domina
25-11-06, 01:52
Dictionary.com and Word agrees with me, although dictionary.com has been criticized for only using American spellings.

Joseph
25-11-06, 01:53
And this: "couldnt of said it better"... so many posters say "of" instead of "have". Is that normal?

2kool4u
25-11-06, 01:53
then ur right alot of ppl dont know how to spell in the U.S in N.Y that is. joseph its called ghetto slang lol

domina
25-11-06, 01:58
It's "couldn't have" not "couldn't of." "Could" is a modal verb and needs to be complemented; in this case, it's by the word "have." "Of" is a preposition and can't complement the verb properly. :)

25-11-06, 02:00
lol im sorry but i used to suck at grammer!

domina
25-11-06, 02:04
It's really not that big of a deal; I'm an English major and a grammar nerd so these things actually interest me.

As long as your point can be clearly understood, spelling and whatnot can be somewhat irrelevant. :) "Definately" and "couldn't of/could of" are really common so most people understand what's being said, and depending on your location, they usually make phonetic sense.

Anyway... I didn't mean to pull this so completely off-topic. Sorry!

lol i learned something new whoot!

Joseph

OK. Trying to accept the grammar in:As long as your point can be clearly understand, let's leave this thread back to topic! :)

Play also comment on the Tomb Raider Legend engine being mobilised for Anniversary. "Thanks to the Tomb Raider Legend engine, this game looks incredible, with the sense of isolation that dominated the original experience being keyed in on."

This is essential! :tmb:

:o I knew I was going to mess up at some point!

So yeah... I'm definitely looking forward to a more challenging game. I do think Legend was rather easy to beat (particularly in comparison to the older games), which was a little disappointing. And I'm really excited about more complex puzzles; those were always my favorite parts of the games.

I really do hope it is more challenging, after all i do love getting stuck in a game as it happens so rarely.

I want super hard tr game like tr3 or tr4. You can get stuck even in such odd places and turn back to trace your steps and think again.

Blackmoor
25-11-06, 10:46
I want to get stuck in the AE.

I want to be so stuck I wander around and around and keep trying the same things, trying to work out what to do next.

I want everything to be UNOBVIOUS.

Which way to go? What to do? What is that? What is going on?

And especially...

What's going to happen next?!

This will probably be a bit too difficult to achieve for a remake of a game I've already played a lot. But... I hope they try, use it as practice for getting the ingenious parts of their minds going ready for TR8. Then TR8 might bring back the gameplay of TR that I love... unexpected moments, in unexpected places.

... oh yes, more challange, but over all,.. different ways to explore,.. i wonder, if they leave the first big paths, then if they add new more,.. one or two in every level,.. the tomb raider AE will be massive,.. what worries me is that somehow,.. im not so confident,.. and im still a litle bit reluctant to the fact that, with many new add paths,.. there will come some parts of the old games lost,.. i dont want a copy-paste game with some new adds,.. i want a new game with as much fun or even more than in the original,.. and as for me,.. exploring is fun,.. i want as many places to explore (and even more) as they had in the original...

i think this remake is going to be very promising

25-11-06, 13:58
Challenging eh? Well, I hope so, TRL didn't give me the "so frustrated I'd smash my head against the desk" kind of challenge that TR1 did.

I hope CD learns how to make a proper Tomb Raider game for TR8. The sense of isolation, the tombs, the puzzles - all these ingredients are so crucial to a TR game. Lets hope CD pick up all these points when remaking TR1.

Pipolinne
25-11-06, 14:11
It seems rather exciting that,in order to solve the main puzzle, you'll need to perform and solve first smaller puzzles and tasks!

I hope this game will make think for a while :tmb:!

da tomb raider!

I sure heard a lot about Legend, and that turned out to be complete and utter :cen: , so I'm just going to wait until I can play it.

I hope TRA be longer, more difficult than TRL.
