Hello everyone. I was just playing through the part with streakybacon-lara, and made some key discoveries:
1. After you dump her in the lava, she's still alive
2. While she's in the lava, she will still act like a crumpled up lara, pulling out guns, etc.
For some reason baconlara has always fascinated me. Discuss

Streakybacon-lara? Crumpled up Lara? I'm not sure I understand... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif
I think CP is at the Tomb of Qualopec level with the streaky bacon mummies! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
The streaky bacon men are indeed those charming mummies ( http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif ), but the streaky bacon Lara in particular is the fake Lara who mimicks the original Lara's movements in Atlantis and you have to lure her in the lava pit for the exit to open for you and for Lara.
For some reason baconlara has always fascinated me.She's so annoying :D And I wonder what the heck she's doing there... Someone in Atlantis must have known beforehand that Lara would pass from that place, and played that nasty trick on her  :D http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Yeah and whenever you hurt her you lose health, I didn't think of her. Been a while since i've played TR1. She would only be alive in the lava though till Lara ran out of health wouldn't she?
But i always though right, like wehn you shoot her, it takes life out of Lara, so if you dropped the fake Lara in lava, dont you think that should take life out of Lara aswell?

It would have worked great in a cut-scene as a Total Recall rip-off..
(Goon points gun at Lara)
Lara : Hahahaha. Hahahahaha
(Goon lowers guns)
Lara : You think this is the real me? It is!
(Lara blasts goons)

Actually this would have been an awesome intermezzo http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif :D

Ohhh yes! I've never heard the term 'Streaky bacon Lara' before, but now I understand. Thanks for clearing that up. Funny term! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Atlanteans are immune to lava, I saw them walking on it a couple of times when I played the game. Maybe that's why Lara doesn't fry when the creature (whom I named Mirror http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif ) falls into that pit. It doesn't really get killed, it just gets trapped in there and, having nothing better to do, lays down and takes a nap :D

Funny term! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif The term 'Streaky Bacon Men' was made up by the game creators, and it's the official code name of the Atlantis mutants that look like, well, bacon http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Heh wow. Thanks for replying everyone. I never expected. Sorry for making it hard to understand. I just thought Mirror (nice name Scott) was a cool part of the game! I've never seen the streaky bacon men on lava, but Natla survived it, and like, fused with a mummy to become half and half. *Actually how did that work??*
I remember playing this level (although I played Tomb Raider about 3 years ago), and I thought it was very similar to a certain level in Tomb Raider 4...sacred lake is the name of the level, unless I'm mistaken. Although there is no fake Lara in that level there is a mirror which will guide you to an opening over the water, which would otherwise be almost impossible to find. I can't help but feel that the developers tried to do something similar, like they did in TR 1

Yep. There was another one too in Coastal Ruins. The Theme park place where you get the crossbow. You have to avoid spike traps which are only seen in the mirror.

I was just playing through the part with streakybacon-laraThe first time I was playing Atlantis and came to the area with Lara's duplicate, a bug showed up causing the duplicate to freeze. Saving on the same slot the whole level, I had to replay it from beginning. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-1.gif
Argh!!!
If you encounter that bug, go to the slope you slid down to get into the room, and jump up it. It will reset baconlara. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
EggandchipsLara would have been a funnier creation :D
LOL Scott. But she doesn't look like egg and chips!
baconlara EggandchipsLara would have been a funnier creationWhy not a combination of the two. They would make up a perfect 'Breakfast Lara' :D
Sorry, I couldn't resist http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Er...er... http://neteru.tombraiderforums.com/images/runaway.gif
You know, it's only now that I've got to thinking. How come they've not brought back the idea of baconlara as it seems so popular?
