I went to linux.com and I can't find out where to download it. Can someone give me a link to the best free linux?

The "best" is personal preference.

There are loads of different "Distributions".

I would recommend by far Ubuntu Linux (and yeah its a free one)

May get more attention in the tech forum, I'll move it there.

I agree with danny, Ubuntu is one of the best distros about, plus it is quite easy to get used too..

Go to there site and download the live CD to try it out, or even ask them to send you the CDs for free :p

I'd recommend Fedora 6! Just Google for a download link, or if the servers are busy it might be better to acquire it via Bit Torrent thats how I got mine, FC6 was only released recently and every official server was permanently tied up, but BT had so many people sharing its the first time I've ever managed to max out my DSL connection using P2P!

Failing that you can pick up a copy that someone's already downloaded on eBay for a £ or two.

And I'd recommend SUSE! Very user-friendly and sweet-looking distro I'd say

You see, it's not easy to be a Linux fan, so many cool distros to choose from :D
