Ok.. everyone get ready to laugh at me... i miss safe driver... crashed her car.

Went out to celebrate my boyfriends birthday, he drove from where he lives up north to near where i live in Cambridge, ditched his car and went out for the day in mine.... On way home he discovered why i have a phobia of Multi Story car parks... on way out, i miss judged a tight corner and smacked the car into a metal floor to ceiling barrier/post/ supporting beam thing! Was a fraction of a second thing, was thinking " don't scrape nose on wall, don't scrape nose on....bugger forgot about post to my right!"

Reversed car back and got out and had a look, rather large dent, and the paints missing off the length of a wing of the car.. its right above the wheel arch.

Anywhoo Glynn (my bf) saved the day and drove my car back to Cambridge and looked after me while i was panicking about how i was going to pay for it, what i was going to tell parents etc..He was brilliant, stayed calm, and calmed me down and propperly looked after me... it looked terrible last night, but after a clean up and polishing out some of the lighter scratches, it isn't as bad as i first worried

Pug have quoted me " minimum of £800 +VAT" so logically thats going to be round about £1000 plus about £200 for a courtecy car for a week. Which i cant afford, luckily its a silver car, so doesnt show up too badly, will have to get it repaired after Xmas... does anyone known of any good (cheap) body shops?

Here are a few pics

Ignore the mud... i was so annoyed with myself i decided to take the car off roading down a country road to cheer myself up, mud everywhere! got stuck in the mud at one point, but floored it and got myself out making even more mess... put a smile on my face

Needless to say, i am REALLY upset, i feel like a complete and utter idiot, i cant afford the repairs, parents are fuming, i feel like a tit and i have damaged my baby! Guess ill be working all the overtime under the sun over christmas now

1200.. Is that not a bit too much for just repairing a flaw?

Are you sure it's something that really needs a £1200 repair? I mean it's just a superficial dent, the most you should need to really be concerned about is getting the scratches covered so rust can't set in. Lots of cars have small dents like that and it causes them no real harm. :wve:

oh thats not good as in price wise, but you shouldnt really worry much

I dont own a car but at least the car is still working right?

had 3 quotes vairing from £700 to £1000 all exclusive of VAT

needs a new rear quater panel and will need a respray and blend, and then new rubbing strip down the side which will also need respraying and blending with the rest the ca then i will need the paint protection i spent a fortune on reaplied to areas that have been resprayed.. if i hadnt had it done, poor car would be looking alot worse than it is now!

Ive got a friend who works in a body shop on the case, hes going to try and do me a deal! im hoing to tru and haggle it down to about £600

Its a show car, so needs to ideally be back in "showroom" condition by my first show which is in april if i can get the funds together

I had the exact same damage when I had a car accident. It cost me about 500 Euros to fix it. Why don't you ask somewhere else too?

Glad you are ok
