I'm replaying Old Mill just at the beginning. But I've been wondering if you can get the torch and drop into the small gap (located just when you enter the cave) and get out again with the torch. I've been trying to but i can't (just to know http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif )
Is this possible?

Do you mean, by holding the torch all the while? I don't think so http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif The walls of the gap are too tall. Lara has to grab their edges and pull up in order to get out of that gap.

Holding the torch as you said, no I don't think so either.
But let's say i was heading for the big chasm (with the rope) to throw the torch at the monsters, and accidentally I fell on this gap. Can I still get the torch out of this place in order to throw it at the monsters?

OK, I tried it and didn't manage to do it, because: you are supposed to press 'Space' in order to throw the torch - right? If you jump upwards while holding the torch and press 'Space', Lara won't throw it. She won't do it even if you release Jump immediately and try pressing 'Space' before she lands. Moreover, if you throw the torch from the back of the gap towards the front, it won't fly high anyway and will end up on the floor of the gap again. I even tried to throw it from a corner, but no success.
Not sure if it's 100% impossible, though. Many things we thought were impossible in TR and then found out there was a way to achieve them.

Well, the solution is very easy. Much easier than getting the torch. I've never done this before, but I found the solution for the first try. Maybe it only didn't came to your mind because it is so clean-cut: RUNNING! ;) :D

After all it's better to give a clue for a formula that is leading to your personal success, that helps you later with similar cases, than giving the formula itself which deprives you from the joy of discovery. Though the latter would be better from my point of view if you know what I mean. ;)
To throw the torch over the pit, you have to throw it while running. Then you can get over to the other side, and pick it up again. After that, you can go meeting Vladimir. Only the cut-scene will use the torch-holder Lara (of course it will - according to the game-engine). This will cause that after the cut-scene Lara will have a lowered torch, and she'll be able to do her basic movements (like with lowered guns): run, crouch, climb, etc. But she will frighten the little monster either. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Sorry i didn't see this thread earlier. Hehe, in every TR game where there is a torch, i threw the it everywhere i could use it, so in any custom level too. ;)

Yes it is fun, and i usually lose much time exploring, carrying that torch around. :D And i like to have it in places where i shouldn't have it officially. :D

Well, I also tried it a few times, and it seems to me also that it will probably not work... at least without cheating. Exactly because of what Nicky said.

Hey, I just have to try that right away! :D One thing I love about Tomb Raiders is that thereīs always something you havenīt done or seen before!
Has anyone managed to climb up from the deep pit below the rope? Once I went down, thinking that there could be a solution because I was stuck in Old Mill but surprise..I got even more stuck! :D
