Cristal Dynamics is working on Tomb Raider 8!
I'm happy to say to you all, that Tomb Raider 8 is in development at Crystal Dynamics fro a month now, but Ian Livingstone does not have the promission to say anything futher, for now.
Just to let you know that there is going to be another one.
I'll keep you posted if i have anything futher.

But he also said that it is a new story. That means that it has nothing to do with TRL.

Show us evidence of this otherwise this is nothing more than rumor and hearsay.

Yeah. Maybe they want to have the flexibility to release another "unfinished business" - a box set of all the loose ends they never tied up.

The man is obviously out of his mind, he cant even have a normal interview without saying something weird. He tries to make it sound a little bit more interesting then it actually is. TRL was a box-office success, and had a "cliffhanger ending ".
I'm a 100% sure the next game is a sequel to legend.

i can't believe they'd drop the story! I hope they don't pull another AoD. Legend wasn't half that failure.
Legend was the first TR game released by Crystal Dynamics. TR8 will be the 2nd. Is that all right with you? ;) I don't see the problem.
As previously stated, until we have proof of this in the form of a press release or printed interview, it's just hearsay and should be treated as such.

I hope they dont continue the Legend story because it's not really worth continue. Now she knows what happend to her mother and can leave it at that.I would dislike a "go to avalon to rescue her mother adventure".
They'd better continue the story - I loved the ending of TRL - it'll only be for one more game anyway if they plan to tie TR9 with a movie lol.

That all depends on tomb raider anniversary. If they decide to contine the story in anniversary, hopefully they can finish the story up so we get a fresh new adventure for Laras third generation adventure on the ps3 and 360.

It should be. I see no reason to discontinue the Legend storyline unfinished when the game obviously was a financial success. I don't put any faith in these threads until I see a press release or something from tlr online.

If it is or isn't, none of us have concrete facts on it... Even if it was mentioned in an interview that it might possibly be the continuation, then can change plans.
Although, it might probably be the continuation, and if it is... I hope it's a little more compelling (not so cliche) and revolves within a long game. :)
