It is.
I don't use AOL as my internet browser though, it takes about 5 minute to log on.
Why do that when you can use FireFox?

We had 28.8 k from 2000 til 2004... Never had the 'net before then. But I guess back in the 90's, the slower modems did the job fine, since the web was mostly text and image-based. None of all these new Flash and multimedia bandwagons that everyone's jumped on now that we can download stuff in a flash. :tea:

I think I *may* have an ANCIENT 9k modem kicking around the attic somewhere. I should hook it up someday just to get that blast from the past. These days you'd have time to go get a coffee and drink it while each page loads. :cln:

Ah, just the Thread i wanted to make.

By the Way, are there any South Africans around here.

www.telkomsa.net (http://www.telkomsa.net) is our Internet Provider and the Worst Company to have an Internet.

We Pay R500 Per Month to have ADSL, then we have a 2Gig Package to use the Internet.

When the 2Gig is used up, we must wait till Next Month to get another 2Gig for Free or just buy a New one with a New ADSL Username and Password.

We have to use the Internet carefully and Download or Upload whatever carefully. In other words, use the Internet once a Week so to speak.

Websites is no Problem, but the Download and Upload is murder.

We dont have Cable or Broadband so that we can use the Internet as much as we want or do what we want, so we have ADSL witch we can barely use.

We don't have a house phone so we didn't have much choice for provider, but we're having a 3mbit/512 connection... We = 4 students, so I'm sharing it with three others, which makes it slow as hell sometimes...

Its called Charter Pipeline. It is a 3Mbps cable connection. I have a (wired) router going to 1 desktop pc and one laptop pc. Wife is playing World of Warcraft on the desktop while I post at the forums from the laptop. We never experience any lag or slowdown. Through the speed caps I usually get a download rate of 350-400kbps :p

Mad Tony
