The US government subcontracted the Chilean military to overthrow the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende in 1973 in order to place Pinochet in power to carry out the US-supported fascist rule.

No,it's not a better world, because he already done all the evil he could and, even after his death, the results of his actions will still cause suffering.

Maybe I agree with the *sentiment* but like the other posts on here you offer no intelligent facts that may inform an ignorant reader. This thread is not exactly *thought* provoking is it. Sigh.

Who told you that? CNN?

And may he burn forever in a pit of fire haunted by the ghosts of those he murdered. His buddies from Washington will join him soon.

i'm astounded by the rather cold attitude also....bear in mind the guy wasn't even still in power at the time of his death

I am sure Pipolinne meant that his death does not suddenly change this world into a better place, and the concequences of his evil policy (when he was in power) are still having effect.

Nothing to apologize for as you've yet to post a reliable source.

And may I say, educate yourself! Copying and pasting links of other's thoughts mean nothing to me.
