Do you have any favorite moments, features or things that were in TR1 that you think would be good inspiration for TR Legend?

My favorites:

- Lighting-- the way the background in the distance is dark and emerges from shadow when you get closer. I love this it is so beautiful! I hope they can bring it back, I know it has to do with rendering capabilities in the 90's but it is gorgeous and atmospheric and so much nicer than when everything is brightly lit

- Secrets that blend into surroundings -- like when you are in the room with the pull-lever that opens a door on the far side, and you have to jump across two blocks to get to the door before it closes in the first level. There is a secret room that is hidden in the moss and hanging ivy with a big Mayan calendar on hte far wall - not overly elaborate secrets, just somehting you have to notice in the surroundings

- Lots of plants, moss, and hanging ivy on stone

- Only a few, well-defined people to kill not an all-out slaughter fest http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

- also NO FLICKERING/DISAPPEARING BODIES!!! Oh I hate that! I don't know why the developers ever changed this perfect, sensical TR1 feature. In TR1, if you kill something, it dies and falls to the ground. Makes sense. In, was it TR4? Anyway, at some point they reverted back to the old Super Mario Bros. death where killed enemies would fade and disappear from the screen.. arhhh! No! And in AOD, the bodies actually FLICKERED before disappearing.... when I saw that the first time I couldn't believe my eyes, I felt like doing the AOD Lara death scream... araaghhhhahh!

Yea, lots of plants, i love plants, bushes, trees etc.

Also i agree with the whole disapearing bodies thing, thats just stupid, it was better when the bodies remained after you killed them.

Well thanks. I mean, if there are skeletons on the floor, how did they get there if everyone flickers and then disappears?

"Only a few, well-defined people to kill not an all-out slaughter fest"

Oh god yes! That's what I really hated in TR2.

Also:

-Keep 'modern' settings to a minimum. The game was much more interesting and involving when you were far from populated areas IMO. (Lara infiltrating Natla's office building in the FMV being the one exception *g*)

-Tone down the weapon selection a bit, though maybe still a bit more than in TR1. What she was carrying around later on was often pretty rediculous.

Lots of plants, moss, and hanging ivy on stoneI agree. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif I love nature and it would be wonderful if there will be many plants.

also NO FLICKERING/DISAPPEARING BODIES!!!I agree again. That's so stupid. You kill someone and after a few seconds it disappears. Silly!

I loved the simpleness that TR1 has in it. Lots of square-shaped rooms, proper ledges... makes me look more at the textures in stead of the shapes. Also: gotta have SAND!!! :D not concrete
