Besides the PSP and the game, you'll need a memory stick. I'd recommend a 1GB (costs around $50) because everyone says the game saves take up lots of room in a hurry. Plus, if you're going to be putting music or pictures on your PSP, that'll take up a lot of room as well. You need a USB cable connector too if you want to hook it up to your computer and transfer music and stuff. The PSP itself comes with a case, but you might want a screen protector. You can look around for those, lots of places sell them, they're only around $5 if I remember correctly.
I've done lots of research, I'm buying one too. :p

you definitely want to get PSP video 9 (free but poor interface and limited in capabilities) or go ahead and buy Sony's PSP Media Manager. the PSP MM makes it easy for anyone to transfer files to and from their PSP neatly and quickly.
here's (http://gear.ign.com/articles/598/598803p1.html) a great article from IGN on how to do it for free if money's an issue. it tells you step-by-step what to download and how to load up your memory stick with fun stuff.
and MC is totally right about the memory stick. get a gig. anything less is a waste of your time and money.
you dont actually need a 1 gig card for game saves, i had the 32mb card that came with my psp when i bought it. and i had a lot of game saves on there and hardly made a dent. plus if you have a mini usb cable (the type of cable you use to plug a digital camera into a usb port), you can create a folder on your PC called PSP saves and transfer saves from the memory stick to the HD and back again ;). i mean a PS2 uses a 8mb card for years. get a 32 or higher for the game saves, and get the 1 gig for mp3 and video clip saves :D .

yes but you only get the 32 MB card if you buy the $250 version, correct?
when it first came out yes but for my 2nd one that i got for 199 i used the one that i had from my last psp. :ton:

I seen a 4 GB card on EBgames.com yesterday :p I had no idea they even had them that big. It was like $150, Was the one in the store the same price?
oh I also have another question. When you buy the $199 version of the PSP ( heard it has like 35MBs on it ) can you use them MBs for saving? or are they used for the system itself ( programs etc. )

yeah! i saw it at ebgames, too, so it was totally the same price. wouldn't that be awesome to have? but $150? man, that's a lot.
and yeah, that 35mb memory stick is plenty of space for save games.

The 199 psp only comes with a battery, and a AC cord to plug into the unit for charging and using AC power to relieve the battery. It does not come with a memory card of any kind. There is a unit coming out in japan in spring/summer of 2007 that has 7 GIGs of internal memory as well as a slot for the older memory stick duo, but that is just rumor for now ;).
