Makes me so mad!

"Man, every time I hear someone tell me that Tomb Raider is a great game I get so mad inside. The only reason that they like the game is because of the *ahem* hero in the game. I mean the gameplay and control are so horrible in this game that I cannot fathom how anybody can possibly like it. The graphics are very pixelly, the control reeks of Chicago Bull dung, and the gameplay is quite possibly the worst I have ever seen in an action adventure game. The game is really, really bad and I definetly recommend you avoid it. No matter what. Not even to play when you need a good laugh (to get a good laugh just watch just about any Rock match.... and see how the other wrestler always seems to carry him through the match.)

Graphics (0.4/10): How could anybody not drunk off their bird think that these graphics are anywhere close to good. The graphics are so rotten and pixelly its terrible. The hero looks like a skinny *****, and the backgrounds in the game are so bad you could make out each individual pixel. Its a shame, really.

Music/Sound (0.1/10): Hahahaha, I didnt hear any good music or sound effects at all in the game.

Gameplay/Control (0.2/10): Frustrating, Frustrating, frustrating. The control in this game is so bad it makes me want to put my finger down my thoat and spew the people's vomit all over this game's candy (behind)!! Seriously, it is a chore to control Lara, and it seems like it is a sin for her to do what you control her to do. The control is so bad in this game its unreal. Gameplay is equally sweet.

Replay Value (-infinite): Ever since shooting this game with several BB bullets I havent even thunk of playing this game again.

Challenege (10/10): The two biggest challenges in this game are trying o figure out how anybody can like this sorry game, and how Eidos could screw up a game so badly like they screwed up this game.

Overall (0.1/10): Do not get this game. It is the worst Playstation game I have ever played. STAY AWAY."...

Errrr. It's a game that was released in 1996 and was a MAJOR HIT and MANY MANY MANY people liked so I have no clue what that guy is on about. He has no solid evidence to prove anything.

Well, to each their own. If the reviewer doesn't like the game, that's their business. Although the only thing that DOES irk me is when someone doesn't like something that a lot of other people like (maybe not even a lot of other people) and they wonder how or why anyone would like something that person doesn't like. Why question it? if they like it, they like it, questionining won't change that. (Alternately, if they don't like something, usually questioning it or *****ing about it won't change their minds either)

Virusbuster. Just a suggestion: next time, put the source where you got the quote from. This could also prevent members accusing you of those words.
This silly 'review' is obviously not from a bright mind, with the childish attitude and bad spelling. TR1 being from 1996 is no argument against it. In the contrary, it is a brilliant game, above time and age. The pixel problem (on pc) is solved by 2 programs DgVoodoo and Glidos.

The point here is, IndigoYak, that it's a quote without mentioning the source, so here is a text that suggests a game-site's 'review' rather than a personal report of (dis-)appreciation which anybody can write and publish on the internet.
I always emphasize that even so-called 'official game-reviews' are no better than subjective opinions, but at least the more official ones are based on more than 1 people's votes.
This quote obviously isn't.
Anyway,the most important here is that Virusbuster pasted a 'random' anonymous negative comment from internet so it is not the original poster starting a discussion here. And being anonymous, he/she cannot defend.
This all makes this thread close to being closed because bringing discussions from other forums to this place is against our rules.

I like to read reviews of games I've played myself, and then especially reviews that are opposite of what I think myself. Never felt an urge to post any of them until this one.

Have a good look at the review now. First, I noticed that there are no reasons why TR should be bad in this review. He/she (hereby referred to as "it") said something about what was wrong with the graphics, ok, but the rest is just bashing.

Second, "it"'s making "it"'s own conclusions. For example, "it" states that the only reason people like TR is because of Lara. Sure, there gotta be some guys out there who play mostly to see Lara, but how about the girls playing TR, then? Are they all lesbians maybe? Don't think so.

I dislike how "it" says nothing about gameplay, as I think of that as the most important aspect of a game. The review says something about controls, which is mostly just bashing, and then says that gameplay is equally sweet. A story rating is also left out, which is really bad, because IMO story and gameplay are the strongest parts of TR1.

Though, if you are really interested in knowing where I found it, sure, GameFAQs. Since linking usually gets me in trouble, I'll just tell you that you do the basic www.com (http://www.com) thingy and put the site's name inbetween. Search for TR, find TR1, read reviews (reviews may vary if you choose PC or PS).

It's weird how people complain the gameplay's controls are difficult. A brainless idiot can control Lara. It's not that difficult. Except AOD, the controls were completley diffent and new to me but in a couple of minutes she was easy to control........ it's pretty odd people think her controls are difficult.. o.O
