Could you check if you have DMA enabled on your Philps dvd-ram player "E".
To do this:

Look for the 'IDE ATA/ATAPI' controllers icon and expand it by clicking on the (+) sign next to it. Select either the Primary or secondary IDE channel, which controls your burner drive, right click on it and select Properties.
http://www.onthegosoft.com/images/photobackup/dma3.gif
Go to the 'Advanced settings' tab, and the device that you want to set (Device 0 or Device 1). The example below shows that drive D:\ works in PIO only mode. You should modify this to 'DMA if available' mode, to let Windows select DMA mode if it is supported by your burner (it usually is).

http://www.onthegosoft.com/images/photobackup/dma4.gif

Then, click OK. Windows will ask you if you want to reboot, for these settings to take effect.
Click Yes.

Clemeh, how do you start TR? Via shortcut or Autorun menu... Use shortcut anyway. TR CD must be placed in lowest CD drive E: and of course DMA must be enabled...

BTW, do you hear any sound during "black screen"? If yes then:

I start Tomb Raider, there is a background sound, but I don't see any introduction movies.
Start the game by double clicking on TOMB.VLP file located in C:\TOMBRAID folder or click on TR desktop shortcut if it's created. Press ESC key two times to skip introduction movies. After few moments you will be in the game main screen and ready to go raiding.

It works now, but ingame only a few of the game shows, e.g. Lara doesnt show, the floor texture shows, but some other textures are blank :S

Update your video drivers HERE (http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/INTEL/Intel-945GM-Express-Video-Driver-1424.shtml) and check these settings:

» Game has missing textures.
Check you are running VDMSound v2.10Beta or later.
Try changing the Colorkeying Method to Alpha Based in DgVoodoo Setup for DOS platform.

» Lara is invisible!!
Ensure Depth Buffering is set to Emulate W-buffering in DgVoodoo Setup for DOS platform.

And.. how do i do all that?

To update drivers simply click the link I gave ya, press the download button on the new page, download and install (run the file).

To set DgVoodoo options enter your TR folder (by default C:\TOMBRAID) and run DgVoodooSetup.exe, select DOS platform and make changes I suggested.

-- Edit --
BTW, when you start DgVoodooSetup please make screenshots of all tabs for DOS platform and post here, maybe you need some more options reset...

1. Update your audio drivers;
2. Then do the following:
Right click the shortcut you use to run TR, select Properties and press Advanced button. Select SoundBlaster tab and make the following changes:
http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/655/123up7.th.jpg (http://img57.imageshack.us/my.php?image=123up7.jpg)
3. Press OK, then run TR again ;)

Hi Esconder :wve: Select SoundBlaster tab and make the following changes:
On the Conexant audio chip i wouldn't advise the "3.0 Soundblaster Pro" but the simple "1.0 Soundblaster".

Also: click Start > Run... type in:
dxdiag
click OK.
On the "Sound" tab, move the slider to the left for 'no hardware acceleration'.
