Third TR movie...Rhona as Lara? What do ya think?

I loved both movies, and I thought Angeline did a great job as Lara...but I think the movie needs a new face for Lara as an attempt to revolutionize her big screen character since the second movie had only mediocre success. How awesome would it be to have Rhona Mitra play Lara? She already has the connection with the francise, has the looks, the natural accent, and since her debut as a Lara model in 1997, she's gained a lot of acting experience. I think that would be sweet. Any opinions?

Angelina is great as Lara, the problem with the movies is not her is the production, who want to transform the movies in some lames blockbusters, for me the movie rights should go to other studios speacialy studios that don't blame the game for the movie failure... The movies industry needs urgently to start treating games with MORE RESPECT, Tomb Raider included, I can see so many ways of doing a great and epic movie about TR... it's just sad what they do...

I haven't seen Rhona act but I'm ok with a different actress playing Lara if Angelina never wants the role again. :)

I very much agree with you. The writers and directors were to blame rather than Angelina. I don't think either of them were TR gamers so I don't think they respected the depth of the game. Simon West even said once that computer game plots were shallow. But I can name plenty of games with plots more well thoughtout and exciting than the script he wrote for the first TR movie.
And Paramount Pictures blaming AOD for Cradel of Life's failure made me so angry. The movie industry should start respecting games and the intelligence of gamers a hell of a lot more!! (rant over :p )
If a third movie is made (regardless who stars in it) I hope it goes to a writer and director who are already fans of the game and respect it. :)

I love rhona! :hug: She was a nasty little "witch" in nip/tuck I think she'd do better as lara than AJ, she has more attitude and nastiness than AJ... :mis: She's just more "raw" :jmp:

I think it could be hard to sell the next movie without a fresh face, but I could be wrong.

Hum... You souldn't understimate Angelina, she sells and a lot, I understand your point, but if they would want to sell the movie with a new Lara I think they would need to find someone with at least the same popularity of Angie...

Rhona Mitra..indeed...she deserve to be Lara and she was and it is one of the best models to play Lara.
