I was wondering why the welcome screen came up telling me to choose an account, there was only one, my one. But what made me choose? Before I just opened the PC and there I was on my desktop. I checked in the Control Panel-User Accounts and found a limited account named ASP.NET Machine A..., shall I delete it or is it something important?

The aspnet_wp or ASP.NET Machine Account is created when the Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 is installed on a Windows XP computer. The user is created to run the asp.net worker process used in Microsoft's Internet Information Services, which allows ASP.net to run on your local web server. This limited user account is created for the ASP. Net Worker Process (Aspnet_wp.exe) so that it is not running with administrator privileges.

shall I delete it or is it something important?

You can remove this account, but it is vital if you do asp.net development work on your machine. By removing the account you may find your ASP.net projects will no longer function correctly.

Good Morning Lord Icon :wve: Dream Raider installed the .Net Framework because the ATI Catalyst Control Panel required that, that's all. :) Yes Dream Raider as LI said you can delete the account.

OR you can simply disable it for now, and then enable if you need it ;)

I would not recommend to disable ASPNET account. We just need a solution how to get rid of it on the welcome screen ;)

You will need to download Microsoft Power Toy named TweakIU.
You may find more info about it on this page (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx).
To download it, click HERE (http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c/a/fca6767b-9ed9-45a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe)

Install the utility, start it, go to Logon on the left side and simply check the user accounts on the right side you want to be displayed on the welcome screen.

Very good! :tmb: But dream raider TweakUI is a very helpfull tool, as long as you stay away from the tweaks in the tool you don't fully understand. Just use the tool for a few harmless tweaks like the one Bokkie suggested! :tmb:
