Heres some info on the Japanese version of Tomb Raider.

Differences

*The title has been changed to Tomb Raiders
*Eidos did not publish the game, Victor Interactive Software did
*The game was released in 1997
*All voices are now in Japanese
*Menu screen has no backround picture, just the games logo
*Lara's Home is called simply Gym
*The inventory is now Tools
*Instead of track 56 being a voice track from another game, there is a 15 second track of music

how come it has the words 'gym' and 'tools' if the voices are in japanese and the words arnt?

Its just one of those little things most Japanese games have if they were originally in English. All text is in English :)

Is what legal? If your talking about the game, then yes this is the released legal version, not a bootleg. I do have a bootleg of TR2 on the PS1 somewhere with a really dodgy case though.

And Larson was renamed 'Candy' because of translation english/japanese cultural differences.

No he wasnt, it clearly says in the manual "Larson". The monkey thing is probably not true either, but i'll look into it just incase
