Hi,ive just been playing tomb raider gold and i am on the return to egypt level.Ive just done the most amazing thing{in my opinion}.I was at the part where there are 3 wooden bridges and one big spike pit below them,i thought that i would kill myself for the fun of it.Strangley when i landed in the spikes i did not die!.Its strange.Is this a glitch?

yes, it occurs on normal TR too. I don't know the trigger :confused:

Did you roll when you hit them? Because, when I was playing the original on PS1 recently, I thought I'd try it, to see if I died, and all that happened was that I lost some health...I don't know, though :)

I remember in TR2 (TEMPLE OF XIAN) I fell from the ladder going up to the trapdoor in the Dragon statue rooms. I landed on the spikes below, but since I was on the inside edge (right against the pillar) I was not hurt. I was at a loss to understand it, but I repeated it over and over again and apparently falling on a square with spikes and not dying is obviously possible if you land correctly in the right spot.

Never did it in TR1, but I guess it is possible.

l managed to do that last year when l was playing, wanted to get down there to see if there was anything hidden, there was not

Just luck l think, it is not the first time l have sent Lara into a spike pit and she has not been harmed, other times she has died. Pretty sure if she ran through the spikes she died, so they were working just fine ;)

Can't people remember that CORE did this on purpose. Rarely, you can land in the spikes and not die. I've done it about 4 times, once a boulder rolled on top of me and I still didn't die.

In the Tomb Of Qualopec, Secret 2, you are required to drop in a pit of spikes, where there is a gap, in order to gain the second secret.

You can drop to safe spaces between spikes in TR1 (I think it was removed in TRII though). Examples are the gap in the spikes under the pit in floor of the Colosseum, and the gap in the spikes under Secret#1 in Tomb of Qualopec that allows you to get to Secret#2.

From the pic those spikes seem well spaced out so you probably just got lucky and landed on a "safe" spot.
