In tomb raider legend all of the cutscenes were in the same graphics as they were in the gameplay and there were no FMV's

Does anyone know if it will be the same in Anniversary?:confused:

CD says that the graphics these days are good enough to have normal gameplay graphics, so no, they won't return fortunaly, I say that because there might be unlockable outfits, so if she wears something diffrent, the fmvs won't be there to make lara's outfit change.

True but in Legend there were some cutscenes where she would where different clothes than unlockable one she did in the gameplay eg. in peru cutscene after flashback gameplay.

Neither the absence of Next-Gen mode, nor FMVs been confirmed just yet.

I'm not hopeful - a guy named Jaywalker who works for Eidos and visits here said that TR:A is made in the same way that legend was in terms of Cutscenes and no Fmvs.

Still, maybe we'll all get a nice surprise :)

Hmmm I haven't seen that FMV trailer but if they're not using FMVs in TR:A, then why are they using that format to promote the game?

Here potential buyers, look at this amazing cutscene that isn't in the game, neither are the graphics... In fact the game and it's bits don't look anything like it...

I say they have to have FMV's. How can regulare gameplay capture the epicness of the Scion Flashback and Natla's imprisonment?

I agree with Hyper_Crazy, remember we have seen a video like this before Legend release. There was a great FMV inside too... ^^

It said rewrite the scenes and cinematics.Hmmm...it doesn't promise anything but a re-write..but I REALLY want fmvs. It's in the original CD, you're 're-imagining it, so it also needs to stay true to it and make it better(ex:the tra trailer is a very good fmv)'

I was refering to the video for Legend (I think it was an advertising for Xbox360). She was in the Ghana level with all the traps and she was talking to us in this video... That looked like an FMV for me, that was way more than next-gen graphics... ^^

I hope they're FMVs, but if they're not I'll be okay. The videos in Legend still had good graphics! :D
Yeah the videos in Legend are great ! I wouldn't be sad if there are any FMV in the game... :)

And I always prefered cutscenes made with the same engine than FMV's... ^^

i don't think that fmvs are really necessary anymore.. the game graphics look so so good i think having fmvs during the game will lower the players opinion of the in game graphics.

i guess 2008 will be the next time we see lara looking as good as in the trailer.

I disagree - Dirge of Cerberus had legend style graphics (complete with those glorious invisible walls) and stunning FMVs. They're still stunning to this date. legend's ingame graphics were nice, but they lacked the punch FMV's could give the game.

Bring them back! If we get 3 or 4 FMVs like the trailer then who's going to complain? The ingame graphics will still look nice!

Yeah. TR8 beta testers said that the graphics resemble the Anniversary trailer very well.
