View Full Version : once you've got the demo and then the final game comes out, will you keep the demo?..

...I would so that in future months, I can look back and see whats changed, like the legend demo, I've still got that and there are a lot of things diffrent. IMO It'd be very interesting to see how much the game has changed from playing the demo at a later date.

So, who will keep the demo once the final version has come out?

Please do not close this thread as I really am very interested in seeing peoples opinions.

I will start off by saying that this thread IS rather pointless, but I guess I do have an answer to your question: Yes. I still have the Legend demo and play it all the time.

Of course I would. After I finish the full game, I like the compare the demo with it. (Moves, changes in the environments, etc...)

RAID, that's what I'll do.

RAID, that's what I'll do.

And it´s the wisest thing to do. I love compairing the TR2 demo of the Great Wall I have with the actual level.

I do play the Legend demo once in a while so yeah, I'd probably keep the Anniversary demo too.

Not the wisest thing to do acording to Yuna, you should reinstall it temporarily to see the diffrences.

I'll keep it too, as I like to compare differences.

The demo fo the Area 51 stage from TR3 was very different.

Wow...sometimes these threads really amaze me...

ANYWAY, I dont plan on playing a PC demo so if one comes out for the PS2 version yea I'd keep it, I still have a TR III and TR IV demo and probably my TR II demo somewhere

Another....demo....thread....

ARGHHH !!!!

:wve:

But in answer to your question....I usually over kill the demos... I remember with TR3s Area51 demo...I played it for days on end over and over (and since you couldn't save, that was a massive achievement I might add)....

But then I get the game..and usually dislike the demo level, to never play it again... Unless it's been tweaked and altered significantly from the demo... (which in the case of the TR3 demo had been... :D)

So yes...I'll play it...and i'll keep it... But i'm not promising i'll enjoy the demo level in the finished game once I overkilled it :tmb:

There are not thaaat many but: the level ends in the best part of the level, right before the blades and the closing walls. I should play it again some time. I think the itmes you pick up aren´t the same and some sound effects are faulty, like the helicopter in the begining.

It depends. If I get the demo on a console then I'll keep it (because I can't be bothered to throw them away, some day I might wish to play them again), but I'll just delete it if I get it on my PC. No point in wasting space that I seem to use up so quickly.

I don't ever play the Legend demo anymore, let alone Legend itself. =\

I dont know if anyone noticed but in the greatest hits version to tr2 for psx it has the demo to area 51. while i was playing it, i was flipping around and i didnt realise it at first but then i thought something was really different and i turned her around and her chest was totally flat. it was really weird to see. she seemed unbalanced.

I kept my legend one, but I don't play it anymore. I noticed the differences when I got the real game, like the bluer water! :)
But I know that if I play the TRA demo lots, like I did with Legend, i'll notice the differences 1st time I play! :pi:

At dream raider, the backpack dosn't have a buckle and also has hooks jetting out from the sides, she jumps diffrently, when you crouch, her hair goes on a higher invisible shoulder and when you die, there arn't any blackouts, I would say the rest but they're really small details;)

Well im not sure about all of them... but some that i noticed that i noticed When using cheats ( the cheats for the PS2 version work with the demo ) She wields excalibar differently and sometimes while swinging it and jumping she falls into the ground and gets hurt xD Also you can shoot the bolder with excaliber and it sometimes shoots up into the air and lands somewhere off in the distance. its fun to play around with. You can also fall through the textures in some parts... and she like falls forever xD

Anyways onto the question. Yes i will keep it :) i still have legends PS2 demo ( OPM DEMO ) Its on my wall in my room in its Magazine case as i type xD

Because I attach any importance to keep a demo when you have the complete game, and a demo isn't perfect (sometimes it contains some bugs etc) so I won't keep it...

I always do that for the games. ;)

angleus: when you play the demo again, look at her backpack, there are straps jetting out of the sides, the things jetting out look like holsters for the gas canisters lara was originally going to have, like in this early shot:

http://tinypic.com/2m31x76.jpg

Ya see where the gas cans are? well, the holsters keeping them there are still on the backpack of lara in the demo, but without actual gas cannisters.

mabe they got scrapped just before the final poduct.:) I didn't like the grenades so I'd hate these even more:)

Yeah, I noticed that. And Lara hurts herself more from little jumps. Also, there's no BLACKOUTS! :yah:
