Actually they are quite different. the turok one has more of a bumpy textured body and the tongues are in different positions. they are just similar trex photo. you could find hundreds of trex shots just like the tra one. this doesnt really prove anything.
I doubt tlr would upload the concept art at TRC.com if it was fake
what a creepy!! :yik:...yuo..it'd be fun..i need a new dinosaur :D
It's a completely differnt pic Evil! :p
Look at the jawline angle, the length of the tongue, the position of the teeth - it's not the same one!
Its an iconic image of a t-rex for it to be open mouthed and making a very large noise. Almost all T-rex's i've seen are drawn in similar way, and thats by anyone, anywhere

They sure look similar but it's obvious they aren't the same drawing. The angle of the jaw and the tongue of the t-rex are different in both pics. :)
If jaywalker says so, I believe. :)

they look the same to me, i know T-Rexes opens their mouth when they're hunting, they make some noise, that adds to their ferocious look with some of their saliva dripping, and that is nomal

Looks similar because both pictures are depicting the same animal, but they are quite different.
However, I'm pretty sure that I had seen the T-Rex and the environment from the supposed TRA concept art somewhere before. My best guess is King Kong's movie concept arts.

.
WRONG!! (ding!)
I can tell you that there are many similarities to be pics, the only differences are those that show the movement of the dino at a different stage. Kinda like looking at two different frames that are close together in a movie.
But what the hey, nothing is original in this world anymore.
have you ever heard about "inspiration"?
If jaywalker says so, I believe.
LOL, I saw an ad on the TV last night telling me how good a product was, and that it was just right for me, so I guess it must be true.....

have you ever heard about "inspiration"?
Yeah, but you can get anti-inspiration spray for that (works even if your best friend don't tell you) ;)
the Turok one looks awesome, can we have that one instead please?
oops, i noticed a few moments ago when comparing the pics that they were actually quite different :p damn , i thought i had a scoop here ^_^;
I'm feeling a bit stupid.. but what are you guys comparing? I only see two pictures of the same scan of Turok...
That's exactly what I see, seth777. Heck, you see the same tank under the T-Rex in both scans. Is there a pic elsewhere to which the rest of you are comparing the two scans in the first post?

Am I the only one who thinks the concept art for the T.rex looks terrible? It looks like a T.rex from the 1950's.

There weren't any t-rexes in the 50's. ;)
I don't know... The one in that first pic looks a bit different from the Anniversary one, to me at least. Similar, but still different.

Gosh...and who would believe such topic can last for 3 pages? Anyway, I see no actual similirity, as Jaywalker clearly stated, every T-Rex is depicted in a similar position. :)
Thread's title changed to appropriate. There's nothing "fake" about a concept art, there is no proof to support anything.

ahh ok, thank you, i got it now
on topic now: They're not the same, and that's one of the more used poses to draw a T-Rex, and it looks to me that TRL is aware of what is official and what is not, so if he put that concept on the website it must be autentic..E]
I guess so.
loool no he is not:D, I kinda agree with him... They keep refering Peter Jackson's King Kong, and I don't like the apearence of the T-Rex there, i don't know how to express it well, I think he has very "wrinkles".. he is skin is very detailed (oh boy I seriously need some english study)... well I prefer the more clean apearence of the T-rex like in Jurassic Park...

:vlol: Hehe that made me laugh!
I personally love the look of it, looks pretty damn ferocious!
And really terrible!!! :yik:

Well wait 'til we see it in gameplay:D I'm excited to see how they're gonna make this one:D...and I hope once killing it..THE BOY WOULD STAY!!!
And yeah they're definently inspired from KING KONG on this one - even the trailer shows it:D

There weren't any t-rexes in the 50's. ;) My species has been known to mankind since 1905. In the 1950's it would have been portrayed as an upright, tail-dragging, gibbering beast with a smooth head. As a dragon-like animal, even. I don't think a fantastical look improves it in the slightest. Dinosaurs aren't fantasy.

I also doubt it would have had such a drab color, but aside from those minor details, it was perfect. The Jurassic Park T.rex was, more or less, a real T.rex.
The creature from Peter Jackson's King Kong was down right ridiculous; three fingers (he said it was more "highly evolved", which is complete nonsense--Tyrannosaurs LOST fingers as they became more specialized, and so did many other animals, like horses), scaly crocodile-like hide complete with armor scutes (NEVER!), and worst of all, a lipless, crocodile mouth. Real T.rexes had lips. We know this from the pores in their maxilla.
If they can go through the trouble of making sure Lara looks realistic, then why the hell can't they afford her dinosaurian enemies the same dignity?

Nice explaining:tmb:, you sure know what you're talking about, and i'm glad you say the Rex from Jurassic Park is one of the more acurate ever done (JP is one of the movies of my life)
