This gruesome alternate mesh for Lara is in the level files for Lost Valley and Tomb of Qualopec, but it never appears in-game.

Perhaps she was going to look like this when low on health or dead, but the designers decided it was too graphic and removed it from the game. It could also have been for the cutscene with Larson - he looks pretty bloody, but Lara's not got a scratch on her!

It actually does appear in the game, although only after Lara has been chewed on by the T-Rex :D

Would have been interesting to see it appear in the game, when she was low on health as you said. But then when she used a medikit she'd end up covered in band-aids :(

Actually I think is wrong if this texture is used when she is in low health because the texture show like if she was sliced by something.

I wonder why that bloody Lara didn't appear elsewhere. It would be appropriate for when she's killed by the Atlantean Boss, or when she has little health remaining. It looks like she has a variety of wounds there, from claw marks to gashes to possible gunshots, too.

I remember seeing this, I think, when she is ran over by a rollingball. Maybe I'm confusing it, though. And I'm pretty sure it was the PC version; although it could be in PS, no reason why they should remove it.

I don't remember seeing this in game for the PS version. It is quite cool though. I do remember seeing poor Lara getting crushed by a boulder and the blood specs. ^_^
