View Full Version : Dumb idea that probably would never work.....'Arcade' section in Lara's Home?

This would not probably be possible because of Core's coding being different from Crystal's Dynamics and copyrights and Core being disintegrated and everything..but what if some small nods were made to the classics in the form of different levels being playable in Croft Manor?

Maybe not on the 6th or 7th Generation but Lara may have a PS4/Xbox 3/Nintendo whatever in her home (depending on the platform, or could be just a PS1 and a fictional console on non Sony platforms) and comment on how people respect her that much they've made games based on the fiction, which are, essentially, Tomb Raiders 1-5. xD She could say something like.

"I could never figure these games out. But perhaps these look familiar to you. Press Action to activate the console."

Or not nessecarily the full games, but one set of levels from a specific game like the Ireland levels in TRC or the India Levels from TR3.

How would you think this would be done if it was possible?

Mabe a crappy arcade game as an EXTRA for TR8.

Just not in the mansion.

I don't think it's a good idea.

It's gimmicky, but it can be done.

Theirs a mod for Doom 3 that allows you to go up to an arcade machine in game and play all of the original doom on it!

It's a great idea, but I'd only like it if it was an imaginary console. (Maybe Zip could make one himself. :p)

It's kind of gimmicky, as said by Gregori, but it can happen, although it probably won't. :(

I think it's a great idea. :D Caves from TR1 for example could be playable. :wve:

If they did that, then wouldn't CD have to introduce another engine into the game? I like the Idea. I could see her saying this (from that you tube clip):

"I've always been made fun of for never finishing a Tomb Raider game, but lets face it, the controls SUCK! I mean do I push the analog stick left or right if I want the camera to go left, and you're not going to look forward, you're going to fall into the bear trap and DIE!"

I would probably laugh my ass off :vlol:

It would be great if Lara could play herself on her own console. How about Lara walking over to her console, grabs a disk without too much care and then after it loads says "Wait, damn it's Legend, let me get one that challenges me". ;)

An arcade where you can play classic Tomb Raider games maybe? ;)

It's an interesting idea, certainly a fun little gimmick, but it immediately made me think of GTA: San Andreas. Not that the GTA games get the monopoly on that concept, but it just doesn't seem as fitting in a Tomb Raider game.

That will or may ruin the whole game.:(

I think it's a fantastic idea. And I'm sure there'd be more than enough space on a blu-ray disc (obviously, for ps3 version) to have a full classic game on there.

Another pointless idea. (IMO)

i think its a great idea, but one thing worries me. if they have the original games on it then people would spend mor etime on those then the actual game. but im still gonna support this idea. good work!

Donkey Kong 64 had a similar feature - the original Donkey Kong from the 80's was playable on an ingame arcade machine. I don't see any harm in such a feature for TR. Why not? Let's face it, TR has little appeal once you've seen and done everything. I'm at this point with TRL. Short of selling it, what can I do? Mini-games and/or playable classics in Croft Manor would be an excellent addition.
