I'm still waiting on the demo, the release date, whether the collector's edition is the only edition, and if there will be bonus items for pre-ordering.
I was very close too...but then i got confused on the whole collectors edition and all that shizz so I'm just gonna wait :D
I did, but I'm hoping I can change it for the collector edition.

There's supposed to be a collector's edition with all sorts of bonus items, but we have no idea when it will come out, or even if it's just the normal version of the game.
Whats the point in pre ordering? You can easily just walk in store and get it on day of release so I dont see the point.
Often, with highly anticipated games, only preorders are available on the day of release. It depends on the numberf of copies that a store receives and the number of preorders. The only way to ensure that you will get a copy is to preorder.
When I got legend on day of release there were god knows how many copies just sitting there. Right before I went in I said "I hope they still have them" and I walked in and they were all right there staring at me. The new release shelf was full with legend. There was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than enought and TRA will be no different.

I hope you're right. I do want TRA (assuming the demo doesn't disappoint) but I'm not sure where I'll be when it comes out because I don't know the release date yet. Hence I can't pre-order it because I don't know which store to pre-order from. Plus, I pre-ordered PoP:The Two Thrones and got screwed over a bit because they didn't have it until a few days after the official release date.
Trust me, every game I've ever got on release day I very easily just walked in store and got it. There is really no point in pre ordering. The only advantage there really is, is that there's a tiiny possibility that it will be delivered to you a bit before the game is able to be bought in store. Not likely that will happen though and theres just as much a chance of it being delivered a couple days after its ale to be bought in store.
I pre odered Legend 'cos some people said it would arrive the day before - BS - on the day it arrived around lunch time, I could have just gone out and got it from a shop earlier in the morning, pre order is a joke.

Exactly. I can just walk in store and get it when I want, whether thats in the morning, lunchtime or in the afternoon. With a pre order you have no control. It could arrive earlier or could arrive later. Just walk in stor and get it when you feel like it. Simple.

I haven't because I've been waiting for the collector's edition. Is it true that there's only going to be a collector's edition? If so, that's crap. I like the get them because of the satisfaction I feel from knowing I have a better version than the average fan. Take my 4-Disc Extended The Lord of the Rings collector's editions I have. I take pride in knowing I was a good fan and that I was willing to cough over a few extra bucks to get it. This is so lame. How is it "collector's" if everybody has it. That's just a regular edition then... :mad:

What I'm saying is that it's not actually a version for collector's like myself. I figured money hungry Eidos would order them to make two versions when they saw the possibility. It makes no sense to call it "collector's edition" if it's not actually for collectors, but for everybody... Do you see what I'm saying?

Thank you :) I want the extra features without having to worry if I get the wrong version, or having to wait longer for the collector's edition to come out.

I think they mean it to be like a collector's edition of TR1. Try to just focus on the fact that *you* get to play TRA and have all of these extra features. It doesn't take anything away from your experience or enjoyment of the game just because other people get to enjoy it too :)

I see what your saying, but don't worry about it, just buy the game, and be happy. :)

Yup, most probably, but at least you won't have to wait longer to get the game, I bet if two versions were released the Collector's Edition would be released like 2 months later than the game.

Depends on the game...
I remember waiting for Doom 3 to be released, I had preordered and was waiting outside the store the morning of release to pick it up with about 60 other people. Too bad they only had 50 copies, 40 were preorders and 10 were just shelf stock... so at least 10 ppl that waited there missed out plus countless others who walked in the store during the release day.
So glad I was first in line, one of the perks of being mates with the store owner i guess :D

Here in the UK there is always plenty of stock for whatever game it is on release day. Legend was a huge seller and there were god knows how many just sitting there on the shelf. Its not like I got it early in the morning either. I got it around midday. Its like that with any game I get on release day. Dont know if other countries in other stores get alot less stock but here at my GAME every game has plenty of supply.
Not yet. Will do in a few weeks before release date. Probably going for Shopto since they deliver stuff like a week before the release date (I'm not kidding). I got Crackdown like a week before it came out in Europe and it wasn't even out in the US either.
I won't pre-order. I will take a look on what's in the stores and have the package in hand (normal and/or collector edition) to make my choice.
And even if I'm impatient, I still can wait a couple of days more.
I ordered it back in March. That way, I have no need to worry about not possibly getting a copy the day it comes out. ;)

I pre ordered it on play.com before i knew there was gonna be a special edition, so i cancled that and im gonna wait until i can pre order the special edition on play.com *waits*

Why is everybody bothered about a collecters edition? I dont really see the point in worrying over it. I've never got a collecters edition of any game. Once I had an opportunity to but turned it down. It was when I got RE4. I saw the collecters edition box on the shelf and the normal one for the same price. Collecters edition was pre owned. You wanna know why I chose the normal one? Because I preferred the red colour on the box of the normal one. I just thought the box looked better than the collecters edition one. Wasn't bothered in the slightest which version I got.

Tomb Raider never gets sold out here so no, I don't have to pre-order.
I can't pre-order TRA in our country yet. When I see the game in our main internet shop I'll certainly pre-order it. I want to play TRA as soon as possible. :)

It gets posted to your door. Where as if you buy on in the shops you have to leave your house. Lol.
Sometimes if you pre-order online you get it delivered early too. I've received games a day or so before their official release date this way.
I would preorder it if I saw a Collector's Edition of it comming out for PS2... however I dont see that yet.
I'm also moving half way across the country around that time... so I wont know my address. I may end up just picking it up once I get to the new place.

I'd expect it doesn't get sold out anywhere. Not because it doesn't sell well, it always sells amazingly well but there is always more than enough. Thats why there's no point in pre ordering.
I've pre-ordered mine from Play.com because a) they're selling it for 24.99, and b) they've never let me down in that they have ALWAYS gotten my pre-ordered games to me a couple of days before release.

just pre-ordered at the game stop store. and i was like yes now i have to wait about a month to get it but now i don't have to worry about spending the money i saved cause i already paid for it. YEA!
I've already pre-ordered the PC version of Tomb Raider: Anniversary from GAME sometime in early February!
I got it from Amazon.co.uk, 40% discount did it for me :p
Didn't know anything about a collector's edition though... :pi: Oh well, I can have them both if it's worth it.

I entered a competition to win a copy :D that's the closest to pre ordering I'll ever get. I never do it and I'm never disappointed :D
I'll do what I always do. Go down to my local independent games shop the day before the release date, and see if he has it in stock. If he does, then I'll buy it there and then. He sells games the moment he gets them in, which is why I finished legend the day after it came out :(
I no, hope that it's in the store when I'm going to look for it.

Well i pre-odered legend like 2 days before the release just in case at Game Stop and the day i got it they like ran out of them and needed to get more so i was lucky that's why i did it this time just incase.

I wasn't really going to pre-order it today, but I decided to ask anyway and the guy at Gamestop said June 6 is the official release date (I'm pretty sure it's not :p) and he also didn't know if there would be any bonus items for pre-ordering. I figure I'll know after the demo whether I'll get the game on release day or hold off for a few weeks. If I do decide to get the game on release day and there's a bonus for pre-ordering, then I'll pre-order. Otherwise, I'll just walk in and get it.

I'll wait for the demo before I pre-order this one, but it looks like there'll be no worries this time - Crystal Dynamics know Legend was a semi hit and I'm sure they are proud of it but this Anniversary game is something totally different, a re-make of a classic Tomb Raider with all the modern trappings - I can't wait!!! :jmp: :jmp: :jmp:
