View Full Version : Laras looks:(

Sorry if this has been posted already, but have you noticed her looks, the close ups? It just seems like she isn't as good as she could look, legend's closeups looked far better, the eyebrows and everything, but TRA Lara looks odd,
Maybe these manor, and other screens are of her just not all the way completed (touched up) ?
imo

belter_21

It's the eyes, they look a bit odd...I think taking 9 and a bit years off her TRL age has made her look a bit weird. But the rest of her looks nice, at least she has fingers and toes (TR1 Lara didn't - polygon limitations).:D

I think she looks splendid. Better than Legend and quite true to the original Lara.

I think her eyebrows are too short and a little fuzzy. They should've kept the TRL's eyebrows:o

Yeah, I guess they didn't want her to look like legend Lara, cause, were kind of playing her past, so I guess she looks fine, now that you said that:o
And did they say that they changed her to look like the original one?

BTW her head looks skinnier! LMAO.!

Sekhraider, i know, maybe her eye brows are being worked on??? They look awful

I liked the arched eyebrows from Legend, I wish they would've kept it. I don't really like the thinning out brows she's got in Anniversary.

They have got the physique correct, but she looks too young, whereas TR1 Lara was all woman (for a polygon restricted avatar lol).:D I guess lots of people will enjoy dressing her up etc.

I don´t know...in TR1 she was a girl, not a woman...I mean, she was 27/28 (depending on if it was after or before february). I think she looks 27 years old now too.

Lol, I´m Argetinian and I speak Spanish:p In Spanish you don´t separate the numbers until you get to the thirties: Treinta y uno, Treinta y dos...until 29 they´re altogether: Veintiséis, Veintisiete, Veinitocho y Veintinueve :p

Lol, sorry for the offtopicness!

Oh, well I'm learning so you can't blame me for not knowing the correct way. :p My Spanish teacher had told us not to write veinteitres because it confused her because she spoke Italian also. She said it was correct either way and she's Ecuadorian.

On topic: The best Anniversary model would have been the one in AL's avi, if she had been more tan.

lara has a good masculine/feminine balance. Her movement and body is the opitome of feminism, but her prominent jaw line, thick eyebrows, strong bone structure, and personality, give her that masculine strenght. Too bad its all gone.

Legend Lara and Anniversary Lara ARE basically the same. If you ever campare them (like most people have done already) they both have the same basic look and facial structure. The only small differences I've noticed are the eyebrows, eyes and even the hair. Anniversary/Legend Lara is the best looking Lara ever. She didn't look manish, she looked masculine. These are two different things. Her breasts were bigger than her body, but at least she didn't have the waist of a 16 years old girl (Legend Lara, cough)

Her face was long and hard lined, whereas Legend Lara's face is round and soft edged, what gives her the doll-ish innuendo. That's why people find Original Lara more mature. Thank god for Core for making her look like a bad ass woman and not like a bimbo.

Also Legend Lara's breasts always gave me the impression that they were pushed up by something invisible, because it's impossible to have bosoms like that.

People shouldn't really comment on the in-game look of TR1 Lara, because it was hard to make a realistic model from 300 polygons in 1996, than using 8.000 polygons in 2006-07. Due to the graphics/engine limitations in 1996, Core couldn't make the braid, but they were able to do it in FMVs.

Anyway, Anniversary Lara looks just fine for me. :)

if you want to get technical about it her earliest adventure was when she killed "Bigfoot"... She was 28 yrs. old in TR1 (which Anniversary is not gonna make a difference on her age seeing that its a remake)... And she definitely wasn't older than 28 in Legend. Actually Chronicles took place directly after Tomb Raider 4, some of the stories retold in chronicles happened before Tomb Raider 1, and we have no idea when the bigfoot adventure took place, only that it was before Tomb Raider 1. :ton:

PirateFromPeru is correct :)
Originally there was only going to be one game, so Lara was 28, it is a bit impractical to have a middle aged Tomb Raider though, so with AOD her year of birth was dropped and she is now ageless. In Anniversary we have been told Lara is in her early twenties, so it is obviously before Legend. If there is still anyone having a comprehension problem the year was included in the hotel cutscene, personally l think they should not have even included that but obviously they thought some people might be a bit confused:rolleyes:

O.K. well someone please find me that link where it says TRA is before TRL because that makes NO sense. And the date that is 1996 in Anniversary is correct like the original and TR2 takes place in 1997 etc. etc.. And I'm assuming the Rome level in CHRONICLES took place before TR1 because Pierre and Larson are in it. :hea: And WHY would legend Lara look soo young if it did not happen before TR1 ?? Just cause it's a remake doesn't mean they changed her age. She is FAAAAAAAAR more advanced in TR1/ ANNIVERSARY than in Legend... :hea: "And yes we do not know when "bigfoot" happened but is before TR1 + TRA.. Since Legend occurred in 2006 and Tomb Raider 1/Anniversary occurs in 1996 l do not see why there is any trouble understanding when the games take place. The flash back scenes in Legend were earlier than Tomb Raider 1. Lara has more advanced equipment in Legend than in any other previous game, and yet in Anniversary she only has low tech equipment, we are told they tried to make her 10 years younger, she is supposedly in her early twenties (true the numbers do not add up there), and the story is a retelling of the original adventure. Honestly why is it so hard to comprehend that this adventure takes place way before Legend. All they have done is update the graphics and gameplay, changed Lara's age, and gone into more detail on the story, it is still the search for the Atlantean Scion

NO kidding !!!! Must have taken a lot to write ALL of that for NO reason.. Someone's smart.. I KNOW LEGEND was MADE in 2006.. Does NOT mean it takes place in 2006 smart *$$... And the flashbacks were earlier than TR1 ?? NO waaaay.. She was like 9.. OBVIOUSLY genius... So maybe it IS a little HARD to comprehend. Stop acting like I started playing TR yesterday. I been playing it since it came out year by year and know everything.. Just don't understand why they would make her younger than the original and make it occur BEFORE LEGEND.. But I know this might be a little hard to comprehend... And I KNOW it's the same storyline.. :hea: :hea: :cen:

Dude, calm down, Its pretty obvious that legend is "current time" just like all other tomb raider games except trc:rolleyes:

Couldn't have said better... Honnestly, who didn't knew that ?!

l suggest you mind your manners there, l should not have to waste my time explaining something that any self respecting Tomb Raider fan who has supposedly played all the games should know. Tomb Raider has always been a present day adventure game, and just in case you are to young to understand that, it occurs round about the time it was made

The changes made in Legend and Anniversary were made for the sake of continuity. Legend is a present day adventure, but if you do not believe me that is your problem. But just to bring home the fact l little more the Ducati Monster S2R Lara rides in Legend was only released in 2005, it could even be the 2006 model

Lara looks great in Anniversary, much more natural. Imo legend lara had too much make up on. Who exactly is she trying to impress in a tomb?

A girl has to look good for mummified corpses, wild animals and peruvian demons (FLUFFY!) doesn't she??:p

You DON'T have to "waste" your time explaining (the way you did anyways), you chose to. And I'm NOT too young to understand anything so tounges please be caged. And since LEGEND came out, I have always thought it was set in a time before (even though the other games were present day) because she looks younger and seems like a story she had encountered in the past. And obviously she has every modern day equip. but just didn't make sense to start over the whole franchise.. Heh..... Whateva.. Blah :hea:

Hey Lara's holding up pretty good for 38 if Legend really is set in 2006.

It gives us 30 somethings lots of hope. :D

HA HAAA.. Yah she IS lookin pretty well...And only gets younger looking with time apparently.. :ton:

Aussie was explaining to you will understand and Aussie's posts are always meaningful and they are not a waste of time.

Anyway, I like Lara's new look in Anniversary and Legend they do resemble Lara, especially the eyebrows, lips and eyes. In the animation video was the Lara that really striked me, it resemble how Lara would look in reality. You know in the front cover of Anniversary they didn't use that model unfortunately. Maybe they will use the one in the animation movie for Tomb Raider 8.

IMO: AOD Lara looked the best, yes Ani and Leg Lara look more realistic, but that still doesn't mean they're more beautiful.

l believe dream raider means the highly realistic model that Plastic Wax did for the advertising campaign and box art was not used in the game itself.
