With FMV? Will you use TR Media Menager or will you wait for Paolone to release his new tomb4.exe which will support FMV and other stuff?:D

So
Mathew can still make a new TR1 remake :D
Who knows, maybe it will be better than Daoines :)

2 to 4 weeks? No! In this time you can't build 0.01% of a level and you will build 12?

I don't want to sound offensive. But I don't think that mathew9r can handle TRLE very good. You know. Knowing the basics etc.

I know, Betal :) That is why I am helping him through PMs. Even totally unexperienced builders can become Titak (I only used Titak as comparsion for "experienced builders):D

I'm afraid of ask Titak, because she's a very good builder.

If someone wants to be good at trle. They should staret with small levels and not a big project. First levels usually get 1.0 at trle.net. That's why people should make many levels and train trle before they actually start a big project an d release.

Active Man

Well, if Mathew decided to build one big project, then we should let him do it ;) I remember my first LE days... ah, great memories ...
I rushed to make big projects just like Mathew, but I soon came to the object limit or similiar, as there wasnt TREP then.

I will help answering questions on this forum whenever I can, no problem at all.

@ mathe9er:
2 to 4 weeks is very short to build 12 levels. It'll take more time than that, I'm sure of it. But I do wish you good luck with your project.
And you know where to go when you are having questions. ;)

Looking good so far. You're off to a good start. :tmb:
Some more objects and some lighting will enhance the atmosphere. ;)

Active Man

Nice Mathew, this is definetly a good start :tmb:
Just add some more lighting and fix those streched textures on the first screen ;)

Those wood (box) textures look weird, Google for a good textures site and download it to use it with your level ;) Add some more lighting to the last screen room :tmb:

ok.
you know this will take me 10 weeks.
when i've done a level you can do the final specs.
i've got to confess im not using winroomedit.
im using dxtre3d with a tr4 game so sorry.
the wooden boxes are the old tr1 tiles.

I find myself using Dxtre3D a lot more than TRLE, just because it has a more native environment to me :D

You know that you can change the brightness of static objects, right?
On this (http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u220/mathew9r/tomb42007-04-3020-05-41-03.jpg?t=1177960680) one, you can change the coloring on the objects because they stand out a lot, and you can have them blend in.

mathew9r
30-04-07, 21:01
:D thanks for the tip.:D

Sounds nice so far. But mathew, you may need some more LE training before you make this. But if you wanna do it, I won't stop you. And stop with the freakin' emoticons.

:ton: yes i do:ton:

Do it then

Have you built the tutorial level? If you haven't, then you've got no chance of building a TR1 remake.

i totally agree,

10 weeks is a pretty short time

Ive been making a level today,

took me about 3 hours to get the lighting, textures and object all set up just right, and thats just in about 3 connecting rooms!

a pain in the butt, but im really happy with my end result

Back in the old days.. Approximatly 6 years ago I was making some levels..
And I was a real newbie!!!!
I never got to get really experienced with TRLE.
But with this new Next generation win room editor I just might try again :D
I would love to see you accomplish this remake. I'd say go for it.
Anything is possible. right?

Active Man

Anything is possible. Right?

Indeed ;)
I am sure that Mathew will succed on doing this remake, because he is very patient and I am helping him a bit with textures...:D
This way, he will learn the basics, it is just important to think positive and have an inspiration :)

It doesn't has to be exactly the same.
So I would use your imagination to make it somewhat different but the same.
Improved in every way :D
