So far, I've only played The Sands of Time. It's wonderful! You should seriously post some pics in this thread because the graphics and locations are stunning! :D
I LOVE the series. It's a fantastic trilogy and they're among my favourite games of all time.
The Sands of Time is by far the best though, in my opinion at least.
The two sequels - although extremely well designed and fun - just don't seem to have the same charm. Sands of Time had the perfect balance and had a fantastic story with excellent scripting and character development.

Love these games soooooooooo much.:jmp: :jmp:
Sands of Time was the first PS2 game that truly amazed me. Everything about it was perfect. Warrior Within was a bit "meh" for me, combat had improved but the magic and (even worse) the wonderful music from SOT had gone. The two thrones was a brilliant return to form and wrapped up the Trilogy excellently.........
Now wheres POP 4 :D

Two Thrones annoyed me with Dark Prince and his drain out life but the story is good.(I don't like his chain to be honest:rolleyes:)
Warrior Within has superb gameplay and best looking characters ever. The fmvs is really good too except the Prince spits a lot of crude language that can really unleash the Warrior Within you.
Sands of Time, the original...it's alright except the battle scheme is repetitive and they look too cartoonish.
So overall...I like Warrior Within more.:D Kaileena is so beautiful and hot, but what happened to her in TT? :yik: She looks like my granma!
I love them all, it's hard to choose between them. I give my vote to The Two Thrones anyway. :)
Can't wait for the next POP.

I love POP series! :tmb: My favorites are SOT and T2T. Can't wait for the next one as well!
I think I'm gonna try and get into this series this summer :tmb:
Is there any particular order to them?
Yes. The Sands of Time, The Warrior Within and The Two Thrones.
I've only palyed Sands of time but i loved it!! Its Fab:jmp: :jmp: :tmb:
I've played all three, and my fave is Two Thrones; although I did like the gothic feel of Warrior Within as well. It's a great series.
Cheers Net :D

Stunningly, you can get Sands of Time in ASDA for ... wait for it ... £1 :yik:
I think I've actually got two of them somewhere in my house  My bro-in-law bought them while he was living here, and it's just a matter of tracking them down.. They could be at his house now, but he doesn't have a PS2.
*Goes off to hunt*
I love Prince of Persia. Warrior Within is my favourite. T2T is also very good.

Enjoy :yah: oh and you need to play Warrior Within to understand the story of TT. But if you prefer gameplay more, then screw the story!:p
That's on PC, isn't it? I'm sure I've seen it.Yeah, that's right. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Especially when I paid £20 for mine. Mind, I shouldn't complain. I got a free Thrustmaster gamepad with it. :D (Which is just dying on me now actually. :()
Gutted. :(
I bought The Sands of Time for £30 on impulse buy when it was first released, but sold it back to Game for £25. Then I bought it again from Cex for £5! :D
After 3 days of playing it, I'll say what I'm thinking so far:
The story:
I don't have a clue what's actually going on as I was talked at during the FMVs. (Ever have that? When something really important happens that you can't re-watch, someone comes in the room and tries to chat with you?)
-Maybe someone can clarify WHY he stabbed the hourglass
The controls:
Makes me realise the full extent to which I dislike autograb.
Very smooth. Not much else to be said here.
Not too keen on the camera control though, I can't look UP with it.
The moves:
This game IS Free Running with a plot  Seriously feels like such a similar engine to Free Running. Cool moves indeed!
The swingpoles are real fun in this game, the wall running is ace - big jumps a-plenty (Wish you didn't have to be near an edge to jump fowards though) - and I Love being able to shimmy around another side of a ladder, that's something I've wanted to do on lots of games.
The level designs
Pretty impressive, makes you think, they look good, not straight forward - though possibly too many 'JUMP OFF THIS SYMBOL' signs on the wall/floor..
The audio
I like the music until the fighting starts, never really a fan of rock/metal in computer games - especially one that's supposed to be set in Persia - come on..
The voice quality is a real downer, it seems really low quality recording at times.
The fighting
Cool moves, but too frustrating - this is the point that it feels too much like Serious Sam. Hoards of enemies that have nearly put me off playing the game once or twice - they do my head in. Too many of them, they gang up and act like annoying crap-heads when I just want to get on with exploring.
The camera
My biggest issue with the game. I dispise the camera angles! They're totally horrendous- and the camera controls sometimes even refuse to move - I don't like that. Make it always moveable, or make it always preset- don't mix them, it's terribly annoying.
When trying to arrange the camera in a certain angle, it sometimes doesn't move, or go past an object - looking upwards isn't happening either.
Baaad camera, very bad.
Basically
Overall fun, cool areas, good level designs, nice to explore, good moves, too much annoying fighting and crap camera angles.
I'm about 35/40% into it now, and I don't feel like giving up.

Stabbing the hourglass on top reversed the flow of time. Think of it as a bigger version of the rewind time power. Only he rewound it all the way back before his father's invasion on the Maharaja's palace to warn Farah of the things to come. The rest... well you know what happens next.
Aha! Thanks Cat, I completely missed out on that. :tmb:

Story, Environment and Gameplay wise, POP: SOT is truly a big hit... but it kinda lacks the more complex edge that Warrior Within has to give. If you like the fairy-tale/Arabian Nights type evironment then SOT and the Two Thrones are your games.
If you like action, a bit more complex game play and a walk on the darker-side of things, then WW is your game.
EDIT:
BTW: Neteru; Did you try finishing up WW with all the life upgrades?

So overall...I like Warrior Within more.:D Kaileena is so beautiful and hot, but what happened to her in TT? :yik: She looks like my granma!
Really? I thought it was the other way around :p I hated her look in WW (although the flowy-ness of her dress was cool) but I thought she looked very good in T2T.
:)
The rock/metal music takes over in WW, but goes back to normal in T2T (I loved the metal, but if you didn't like the stuff in SoT then you probably will not like it in WW either). The combat gets much more complex in WW and T2T, but that seems to make the combat easier to control than SoT once you get used to it (practically every button combination you can think of results in a special move:D) In SoT, you can switch to a panoramic camera if you need a bird's eye view of the area. Not always helpful, but it does let you see above you in some places :) The camera is about the same in the other two games. WW is very open and non-linear, while T2T is a bit more linear than WW but is still explorable :)
Aha! Thanks Cat, I completely missed out on that. :tmb:
No, you didn't. That didn't happen yet if you're only at 40%. At the beginning of the game, the Prince's father was invading Farah's father's land. The Maharajah's vizier betrayed him to the Prince's father. The Prince wanted to prove himself so he broke into the Maharajah's vaults and found the dagger of time. He didn't know what it was, though. His father then was going to divide up the Maharajah's loot. The Vizier wanted the dagger and the hourglass in order to gain their power. The Prince didn't know any better, so he put the dagger into the hourglass to see what would happen. This unleashed the sands of time, which turned all of the people in the palace into sand creatures except for the Prince (who was protected by the dagger) and Farah (who was protected by her amulet, which features in WW). The Prince had to kill his father-turned-sand-creature. Then Farah offered to help him undo everything he had done, and with no other choice, he accepted. That's the basic idea of the storyline :)

Hello...
I have played POPTT (3rd series) and it was great... now i am playing the first series (65% complete so far) and soon i'll begin with the second one...
But:
Even though they are fun to play, they are so repetetive.
OMG, you can't beleive...
The games arent hard... they are easy, but so long that you get bored...
POP The sands of time:
Story is great... it even has got very great puzzles that need some skill, but dspite of the puzzles everything in this game is so repetetive...
havent yet played the second one, but in the last series i used to go backwards intime as well, so i dont think sand tanks will be absent from this game..
Besides, from the sands of time till the two thrones, the prince's moves and skills didnt change that much...
Howvere in the teo thrones, the story and graphics are great so is music, but it contains lots of stupidity IMO...
Yes sneak behind two guards... kill the first one and the second guard still hasnt see you yet... so go and stealth to kill him... :vlol:
Even the prince's moves and jumps... they arent as good as in the first series...
Overall it is fun to play them.... :D
Actually, POP are exatcly a Lara Croft Game...
But with a man instead of our LAdy...
NB: Does any1 know what is the prince's name...
i dont remember anyone mentioning his name :vlol:

... You need to offer your expertise to a lot of crudes on the POP forum Lol! They couldn't even beat teh Dahaka on their 5th try.
Dahaka is easy...so is the Empress...I thought the health upgrades in WW were the hardest to find than in any other in the series though...took me ages fo find them:p

Dahaka? Isn't the WW final boss is the Empress of Time herself again?
The Dahaka was getting on my nerves more than one time in WW. I thought I'd turn crazy. But finally I've been stronger than him ! :cln:
BTW : I've finished WW with all the life upgrades and got the alternate end too. :)

Yep :). Actually its the ending that leads to the opening scene in The Two Thrones :wve:.
Hmm, I dunno if I should buy it, is it fun?And most important of all: DOES IT HAVE MULTIPLE LANGUAGES? Cause I can only get deutscher versions of games, and in Legend and the Sims for example you can switch to english.
I've only played a little of the first (back when it was still 2D) and was quite surprised when I found out recently that it still exists. Is there any good but cheap game (or a demo of one) that I can try out to see what it's like?
You can buy all 3 of them now in a trilogy box set for like £10, It's a real bargain. :D

Besides, from the sands of time till the two thrones, the prince's moves and skills didnt change that much...
I thought it was more than enough...the combat got a lot more complex, and they added enough new moves each game to make exploration more interesting without losing what appealed to me from the first game.
Dahaka is easy...so is the Empress...
I had a lot of trouble with the Dahaka. I kept having glitches where the Prince's sand powers wouldn't trigger properly so I'd use up all my sand without even getting the rage mode :( I got lucky enough times in a row to beat him once, though, and that was enough. As for the regular ending boss battle, I had trouble with that one too but managed to win it twice. (I was on medium mode all three times)

This link will hopefully work :) I think the SoT demo is fairly representative of all three games, except WW is a lot darker, the sequels have a few additions, and the combat is a bit more complex :) Oh, WW and T2T also have difficulty options which affect the combat.

possible spoiler(it is mentioned in the manuals):
i may be wrong here but in SOT when does farah give him the amulet that he has in WW in the WW manual it says she gave it 2 him @ the end of the game
i just dont remember it
also on the topic of manuals it says in the SOT manual that only 2 items are powerful enough to hold the sands of time : the hourglass and the dagger
how come the prince can collect sand in the amulet
also can some one tell me whats up with the sand wraith guy in WW
I am currently in the gardens after yet another dahaka chase
also has any one else ran into the sand wraith glitch where you become a sandwraith after the second sand portal and cant get any further because the dahak forgets to turn up and smash a wall
for those of you who want to find the glitch when the prince says that the portal doesnt seem to be working (after fighting shadhee again) if you run into the inactive portal without pressing the buttons it makes you change time any way yet when you save and at a later point reload you will be the sand wraith
infinate sand tanks yay
btw i am going for all life upgrades
Hmm, if I recall correctly the problems you mention only happen with pirate copies.

Well...the prince's army raids India and get's the dagger and hourglass yeah?
So maybe she was given it as a little gift by her father when he went to the island of time himself [mentioned by the old dude in WW] :)
Well if you notice the amulet can't hold much sand only 6 tanks whereas the dagger can hold loads more in SOT [although it's still 6 in TT?] Plus it didn't play a major part in SOT...and when the prince picked it up he may not have realised how to seen it until the old guy may have shown him...man that old guy knows his shizz doesn't he?:)
Just some thoughts of mine...

*Wacks you* Are...you...kidding...me?! Probably one of the best features of the game! Who needs to go around rough-housing like a moron when you can position yourself just right and take out as enemies as you want without even a flintch on your life meter.
Definately a great feature for the assasin at heart ;).
I think the stealth kills were a good idea - they were quite challenging, but you didn't have to use them. If you made it, the reward was worth the trouble (get out of tough fights quickly and totally unscathed). If you didn't, you could still fight your enemies in a conventional way.

Yes, the Two Thrones added some interesting moves and ideas to the formula. My favourite one being the Prince's ability to leap into a gap between to walls and shimmy up or slide down. I LOVED that move.
There are no game characters that can match the sheer acrobatic skill of the Prince. No, not even Lara (although she comes close).

Yes, there are a few extra rooms and puzzles to solve.
Unfortunately there are also some major sound glitches but they shouldn't ruin your experience.

Well his life's in danger, his kingdom is almost in ruins and he's infected with the sands. I'd be ****ed off too :D But at least he had Farah and that 'Dark Prince' voice in his head to have banter with.
Farah: What is your favorite color?
The Prince: Color?
Farah: Shall I repeat the question?
The Prince: Blue.
The Dark Prince: Blue? That's not my favorite color.
The Prince: What is the point of this?
Farah: Must every conversation we have be so serious? I know so little about you.
The Prince: Very well, then what is your favorite food?
Farah: The pomegranate, of course.
The Prince: I do not like pomegranates.
Farah: What is wrong with you?
The Prince: They're messy, impossible to eat with dignity. SO much work for a few small seeds.
Farah: But isn't it the effort that makes them that much sweeter?
The Dark Prince: I think I'm going to be sick.
