Director's commentary & bonus disc

In the interview on Youtube they said once you finish TRA you unlock a director's commentary that you can chose to hear Toby gard(sp?) talk about the game while playing it (i think this is brilliant)

What does everyone else think?


And what exactly is on the "bonus disc?" Is the bonus disc generally included in the game or is it something extra?

It just seems that we're getting a LOT for only $US30:jmp:

A bonusdisc is an extra disc.
You have a gamedisc, and a bonusdisc is just an extra disc with things as comentary.
There are DVD's with an option to watch with the comentary on,
Its a good extra but I think it would realy distract me from the actual game...

I think that, having played through once, it would be nice to hear the commentary while playing through again.

It can't be that bad, it would be interesting to see his side of things, after all, a lot of people are Toby-bashing, along with legend-bashing. Maybe he can redeem himself with this commentary. Gotta give everyone a chance.

In principle I think it's a great idea. I like the idea of hearing the creator's talk through their games and I look forward to hearing what Toby has to say - for both games.

At the same time, I think it's a massive shame the whole team from TR1 (Toby included) can't somehow do a commentary for the original game.

Even if TR:A is great, it is a remake of a game and the accolades out there are really for the original game. It is hubris par excellence to sit smugly and waffle on soley about this game as if it is something fantastical in itself. At the end of the day - it's a different order of difficulty COMPLETELY to invent something than to remake (re-imagine if you must :rolleyes:) it. It's so much easier to "correct" (:whi:) someone's else's work than to create it anew yourself.

I dearly hope they show some humility with whatever they do here.

I personally can't lose sight of the fact that this game is a celebration of something else. And that unfortunately (circumstances being what they are) the creators of what we're celebrating (Toby excepted) aren't invited to the party...

Commentary is on the games disc, and Toby is sharing the spotlight with one of the Anniversary people, just cannot remember which one l think it is either Jason Botta of Dax Ginn. Toby would possibly be giving us some snippets on the original Tomb Raider, story elements, and Lara herself, the other person will likely be talking about the creation of Anniversary. The extra's disc is available only with the collectors Edition and will have the documentary, trailers, adverts, and pics of Tomb Raider from the last 10 years. Possibly it will also have a trailer for Tomb Raider 8 although that is unconfirmed, trailer 5 does not have any info on what game it is from. The Collectors Edition will also have a music disc with tracks from Anniversary and Legend
