Can you help me? (trle; i'm beyond that kind of help ;))

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t120/stranger1992/tofarformyliking.jpg

I'm having an attempt at making my own objects and textures.
I decided to start making statics or sometihng similar so i made a bookcase which can be pushed. nevermind the texture of the bookcase; i'm working on it ;)

Okay; i have 2 problems
. My first one is that how do i know how big my object is in comparison to lara. Is there a specific value per click? ii'm having a bit of truoble with this (as White Tiger knows...thanks for sizing this bookcase)

2. the bookcase is too far off the floor (as in the picture).

If had tried pressing floor/ceiling down but i will only go down if the floor goes down...but that means it's unpushable

Can someone help me becuase i'm a newb when it comes to making objects...but i want to learn :)

Have a nice day.

I am probably wrong, but I don't think that statics can be pushable....

okay...that was misleading. I am making static objecs and things like pushblocks taht are like statics just with the push anim in the pushable_object slot.

But no izzie404; i was wrong...wel..sort of lol :)

You will have to make the object's origin higher up on the object.

Did you read the nice tutorials of Bedazzled and Michiel at the TRLESE- tutorials about this?

Could you then explain in a short way how you created this bookcase, to get into your way of thinking.:)

If you want to push this bookcase then you will have problems. It seems 1 square wide and 2 squares long. You cannot push it from all sides so you must create a square bookcase.

Best way is to extract a pushable and edit your bookcase over it. Sometimes objects have a different import angle. Best way is to look at a tutorial for creating the right size.

Opened Meta.

The created a primitive cube and scaled it into a cuboid shape.
Then 2 more primitive shapes as cuboids and measured it up agaisnt the 1s and joined it together.

Then...i took the knife every quater of the 1st primitive to create the boxes at the top. The i deleated the top row of faces and expoted.

After that; added it to my WAd and added that wood texture as a base as i knew it would change.

I put it in the pushable_object slot and added the mesh. Opened up NGLE and i added the object...and there oyu go.. :)

First of all it's seems to be a problem of size, like Piega said! It is much to big for a bookcase.Trie to understand the next picture:

If you set up Meta in -view -grid 52- size 500, this would be the size of one block in game. Mark that it is two by two squares horizontal and one square above and one below the "base line". The yellow brick is the middle of your cube. I understand that someone resized it, if you lower the hight ,the bottom goes up in the same way as they go back to the centre. This may cause the hight diverence?
The best way is, as Piega suggested is to make a one block object of the right size, import it in a excisting pushable and see what happens!

very....strange-looking books ;) .
Did it take you much time to make them? I'm thinking of making objects...
also, I have already made a ....random... object, and how do I go about putting it in a wad if I made it in 3ds Max?

it took me about 30 mins top to make those books. That's considering that I had troubled with the sticking out pages.
