Personally I think they rushed through the outfit.. Very poorly too.. If they would have started to work on the gunbelt a year ago when they knew Anniversary was coming out and HAD the set render for Anniversary then it would have made soo much more sense. The holsters are too low. Hair too short (and braid too thin), guns are wrong and shorts too dark. The backpack is the ONLY thing that is exact besides the fact of it not being brown. She did soo much better as the Legend Lara.. :cen:

She looks beautiful. People shouldn't be so picky over her. She is trying to be a computer game character, she obviously isn't going to look exactly like Lara! Comparing her to Angelina is dumb, there was a much bigger budget for the Tomb Raider movie than just some promo pictures. :]

Why are so many people blaming Karima Adbibe? Hair and Wardrobe would be where the problems started. The shorts are too tiny and worn far too low to really look very sexy. The garters are hanging down her legs which also doesn't look good at all. Her hair is much shorter, thinner and lighter. I'm not really picky and I still think Karima is beautiful, a poor photoshoot wouldn't make me think different. I don't really care much about the promotional models. It's just bugging me how people are automatically assuming it's Adbibe's fault.
Not to mention that the photographer seems to be much taller than her and shows no effort in squating down lower to get a more desirable shot. Not the greatest of photoshoots, but she is still incredibly beautiful.

I like Karima but I hate what they've done to her. The official photo shoot outfits have never really been spectacular but they've hit an amazing low with this. The shorts - which are horrible - make the top look even more unflattering and the holsters and guns are wrong.

It seems to me that some person, who probably works for eidos and isn't a photographer has been handed a camera and asked to press a button. theres no creativity or anything. they are plain, boring and unflatterring. maybe eidos should hire a proper photographer.

Why is the top so blue? :? It didn't look that blue in the original TR1, or in any TR games.
The photographer should be shot (preferably by Karima herself). Or at least fired. Taking photos from this angle??? Her legs look much shorter then the rest of her and make full body photos very unflattering. :mad:

Only on this forum, could someone post pictures of a gorgeous woman, and have so much negative feedback....her hairs not right, shes too fat, too skinny, blah blah.......Its a promotional thing people, she changed her hair color because she wanted too, and i doubt the Lara gig is going to pay her bills, so forgive her if she doenst completely try to immerse herself in Lara.....I thought it was CORNY back in the day when the old models used to act all serious....I like her "out of charachter" approch....
Bottomline is, if u dont think shes a great lara model, fine......but anyone who says she is anything less than attractive is a deeply disturbed or jealous individual...

But I still think the costume should be more authentic and real looking. The hotpants, backpack and to a lesser extent the leotard, all look sort of wrong IMO... Seriously, who makes/buys those outfits?
Plus I think they'd be better off getting a better location for the shoot. That obsticle course style netting (though fitting the theme of TR) looks a little cheap.
Perhaps they could have tried having her at a castle or better yet- the British museum!! They have tonnes of classical greek and Egyptian artifacts and monuments. They could have had a 'Lara Croft Day' to get more people interested in ancient societies. The British Museum may be a little hard to persuade, plus what Lara does isn't real archaeology but anything's possible. It's certainly be a good publicity stunt for all involved and it'd look great. :)

Normally I'm not mean about how people look, but that Maria whatever woman looks awful. Too much make-up, too much Photoshopping, and I'm guessing too much plastic surgery. Some of her more "natural" pictures are very pretty, but all the ones in which she's trying to be Lara she looks terrible.
I still think Karima is drop-dead gorgeous and I still think she makes a wonderful Lara, but I do think these pictures are a bit disappointing. The costume is really bad - The waistline of her shorts is very unflattering, and with a body as amazing as Karima's, it's almost impressive that they could make her look so awkward. Pulling the waist up at least a little higher would help a lot, I think.
And I dunno what's up with the blonde hair - I like Karima as herself and as Lara a lot more with the darker hair. Looks more natural and a lot more exotic, especially with those stunning green eyes.

I don't like Diana-Maria very much, she looks in most of her pics too fake... but I really have to say that her Anniversary pics are great! So much better than the photos she did before! Great costume, great make-up, great poses! :tmb:
The new Karima pictures look even more terrible compared with Diana-Marias.
In Karimas photos everything seems to be wrong. The whole costume, the holsters, the shorts, the boots, the hair, the make-up, her expression.... just awful and nothing like Lara. :( :eek:

Diana-Maria's pic seems better because of the better photography and pose. They obviously spent more time on this pic than the Karima ones. Poor Karima, getting all the blame when it's not her fault...

Actually, I've also noticed something is wrong about her... The facial expression reveals some kind of weakness, I really don't know what it is, but Sun, I also red that in her images... Her eyes are inner sad, i can see that... Or maybe she was just feeling sad for having to take those pictures with that bad photographer and bad clothing, who knows...
I know you only used the drug-addict bla bla bla stuff just to compare her look, it was just a comparison, not an insinuation, I believe...
Anyway, better these pics won't be used in official promoting, or someone in EIDOS marketing department will be fired...

It doesn't cost anymore to buy a shirt for a movie than it does for a promoshot, and you wouldn't believe the amount of money game companies put into marketing, we're talking millions. as you can see, Karima didn't pull it off as some of the others did. I thought her model pictures were sexy, but she does not have Lara look. May I say, she could be a nice Natla model ;)

She's very attractive, but the clothes designer tries to emphasize "sexy" so much with the "bikini line" shorts, that the "look" is more cheesy then sexy. Put the girl in real shorts that would be believable for an archaeologist/adventuress and "sexy" will be achieved on its own. Also, Karima needs to stick to dark brown hair for the duration of her contract, at least for Lara Croft photo shoots. Lara has brown hair, not ash blonde hair. Don't reinvent an icon, please.

Why must people complain about her! She is beautiful. The only reason you guys hate her look is because her face isnt caked with foundation and coverup, mascara ect. Can't you appreciate a womans "All most natural" look?

OK she's lost weight, but now her face has become all shrunken down, and I'm sorry but there's something wrong with her knees!
Ummm Karima you're very pretty, but this doesn't do the job. She needs to go to the gym more and make some muscles, eat some vitamins and other kind of healthy food to get her tan and..umm...face back, and just to not look like a druggie.
That hair and outfit have go to go...!!! Other than that she's fine :) What I really think is missing in these pictures is some self-confidence. Lara is very self-confident and wouldn't smile like that or just make such faces that make her look fakely strong and very vulnerable.
I'm sorry but this is a disgrace to all the other Models who made the effort to look the part of Lara Croft..it's like Lara bumped into Paris Hilton and she told her she was fat and had to slowly go blonde so people might not notice.

Karima looked wonderful as Legend Lara, but I had my doubts since the 1st Anniversary model shot. What the bloody wazoo were they thinking?!
I know the original outfit has been a classic and had been worn well by a handful of different models, but they tried to update the outfit with Anniversary and they just tweaked it wrong especially her hair, (and I initially thought Legend Lara's hair was too light and red) dark roots are bad. She doesn't even look like the Anniverary Lara. I bet Karima would look better if her outfit was exactly the same one worn by the classic models.
But I am all for updating. In the right and correct way, please.

The first thing I think when I see these new pics is "that's not Lara". Even I look more like Lara and I'm a guy (:o But that's not for here...)
Listen...... i understand if some of u think she doesnt have the Lara look...its obvious shes been away from the game for a while and this photoshoot was not planned properly or something, as her hair is def off as far as Lara goes......
If you think she looks very UN-Lara , then by all means, complain.....
BUT could we stop the RIDICULOUS notion that shes "UGLY" or "Drug addicted" please......its not only pointless and insulting, but unfounded as well.... Im tired of someone posting pics of a woman that ANY guy here would date in a heartbeat, only to have everyone call her ugly.....its foolish and childish......theres no reason to be unnecesarily cruel just to make yourself fell better because you're ugly.
Diana may look a little 'plastic' but I think thats the whole idea... and she does look like Lara. I'm just amazed at how thin her waist is! And that, is NOT photoshopped.

I'll second that motion. Rhona looked the part in body language and could fire off a few rounds too. Karima would be knocked over by the recoil of one handgun. :)

Only on this forum, could someone post pictures of a gorgeous woman, and have so much negative feedback....her hairs not right, shes too fat, too skinny, blah blah.......Its a promotional thing people, she changed her hair color because she wanted too, and i doubt the Lara gig is going to pay her bills, so forgive her if she doenst completely try to immerse herself in Lara.....I thought it was CORNY back in the day when the old models used to act all serious....I like her "out of charachter" approch....

Every woman is gorgeous in her own way indeed, but you can't cook a ham and call it roasted chicken. She is not just "out of character", she is out of Lara. In fact, she is no Lara.

That's exactly how I feel. Most, if not all of the other models have had that Lara attitude - that sort of sexy, roaring flare about them.

I don't really care about the model. Karima is beautiful but what interested me was the game and I really don't pay much attention if the model looks bad or not. It seems to me she's trying her best to look and do things that Lara does, I won't be surprised if she tried diving from the mountains of Bolivia and break her neck.
