View Full Version : Falling_Block Setup - ?
Hello, again :wve:
This time I need an explanation on using the Falling_Block object. I do not know how to set it up. Or if you don't know, could you lead me to a tutorial for it?...
I hope that this is the correct thing I'm thinking of, you will need 2 rooms one to place the falling_block in and another room that you will fall into. The first two "I" is the top room the second two "I" is the bottom room. Then you need to make a dummy trigger. After you place the falling_block, click on it then go to the trigger window and then go to the trigger type window and select "Dummy" then press ok and place that trigger in the bottom room directly under the falling_block object. Do I need to set the ground to a certain "opacity" setting?
no, but first you are talking about that thing where when you step on the floor it falls apart right?
If I don't set the floor to a certain opacity, then how can I place the object on a door?

Ok first make the top room and place the falling_block object
Next place a room under where you put the falling block
Now you can connect the rooms together
Next you select one of the blocks
Then go to the trigger window and select "Dummy"
Then press ok and place your trigger directly under the object that you set the trigger for

well i'm fine posting pics now when i need to because i can just put them in a folder on my server on my website and put them from there, then i know where the pics are located but anyway i hope that helped :)
Actually...it's not working right...
Lara still falls right through...
Here's what I did:
I put the falling_block objects on the ground
I connect the first room [with the falling_block objects] to the second room
I select the first falling_block object
I change the trigger type to dummy
I click on the sector where the first falling_block object is on the 2D grid in the first room
I place the first trigger on that sector
I repeat for the second falling_block object
it has to go in the bottom room not the room with the falling block
she's still falling through...:confused:
thats odd, ive had this happen to me with the bike shattering floor, ill go check to see whats wrong
I can't find anything that could cause that, are you sure it was setup as dummy?
