With TRED you can build your levels for TR2, TR3 and TR5 with the TRLE!

This tool requires an additional step respect the normal level editing.

First you have to build a base level (like DxTre3D), with all the meshes, textures and objects needed. You can use FexMerger for this. Then you have to extract the WAD from the base level. After this step, you can edit your level in the normal way.

When you want to compile the level, you have to open my tool, and you must insert the TOM level, the base level, and the destination level. Then you can start the level building.

These info can be saved, so you haven't to insert them every time.

With TRED you can also build cutscenes for TR2 and TR3. If you select the Cutscene checkbox, TRED will convert flyby camera in cinematic frames.

My tool now fails only very few times with TR2, for TR3 and TR5 instead it works perfect (for now http://www.trle-community.net/images/smiles/biggrin.gif )

I'm not sure if I'd use this. I chiefly use Dxtre3D2 for my TR3 levels and - if it wasn't so buggy - I'd use it for TR4.

But assuming that they release more patches for TRLE to make it more like the former, and perhaps a bit user-friendly, I'm in support of the idea.

Wow this is great. I allways wanted to make a TR3 level but Dxtre3D was too hard for me. Can't wait for this.:D

I had actually heard about this on some spanish TR site, but when I tried to research it I didn't find anything....
What does TRED stand for?

Strange how you people find Dxtre3D 2 harder than TRLE. For me, it's the exact opposite.

I guess Dxtre3D 2 is a more "advanced" program. :P
