OMG !!! This is sooo great.. He is playing TR1 and it's hilarious. He has NEVER played before. I have been on the phone with him for the past 30 minutes and he is still in the caves (first level).. I am going to let him get to the Tomb of Qualepec and then start the game myself to see if I can get past him :ton:

lol I brought tomb raider to my friends house none of my friends like it, but one of them wanted to try it because he was bored and he has the hardest time with the controls he doesn't get how the 3D controls work.
When the game was released in 1996 those controls were the standard. I mean, rotate, advance and jump back. They were present in many games at the time so they felt very natural.
For younger players who have grown after the Playstation era (or during it) the new kind of analog controls are more familiar, 'cause most current games use it. That's why people find original controls so awkward and hard to work out. But after some training, they get the grip of them :)
I promoted my best friend into the TR-mania a while ago with TR4. She is now a big fan, but prefers the current analog controls in AOD, Legend or Anniversary. I'm struggling her right now so she plays the original TR :)
