I was watching Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl. And there were some parts that were skipping. I had to fast forward past them. [It may have some thing to do with the fact I have seen it 106 times already. But I cant help it its a good movie :vlol: ] I don think its scratched or any thing. But is there a way to stop it from skipping [other then stop watching it :vlol: ]

Does it stop at one scene, then start back at a different point?

No it kind of pauses and the only way to get it working is to fast forward a bit

If the disk is clean and free of scratches, then you may need to clean your DVD player lens.

LCB, what program do you use to watch DVDs?
Have you made a lot of shortcuts with PoTC DVD? If yes, try flush them.
If issue remains, follow Net's advice about cleaning laser lens.

Try cleaning the laser lens like Neteru suggested. Laser lens cleaning DVD's are not very expensive. :wve:

If the issue still remains, your DVD may be defective... does it do this with all DVD's?

I see.

Try cleaning it - there might be smudges you can't even see.

If it's still nothing, then try it from another DVD player. :wve:

E.g. WinDVD and PowerDVD can create shortcuts for different time of the movie, they save stopscreen and it's time stamp for you to start playback from certain time. So delete these shortcuts and try to play this DVD.

Don't waste your time with dvd and cd lens cleaners. They have been tested over and over again and shown to be a gimick.
I have no idea if I spelled "gimick" correctly. I suspect there are supposed to be two m's?
anyway, Your dvd is probably scratched or smudged as others have suggested. If you really love the movie, you can purchase it again used for $5-$10 as a worst case solution.
